So I have settled on the dates to the bus gathering at my house. July 12, 13, & 14th. I have scheduled the time off to make it happen.

I wonder if it is possible to change the title of the posting to reflect the new dates so it is not confusing to everyone?

Bill

Looking better that my bus will be mostly put together by then. I'll know more in May or so

So I just created a Facebook event called: Skoolie Bus Conversion Rally July 12, 13, & 14

I am not sure how to get the link to post here but I will when I figure it out.

Super excited to read a event that's not 1000 miles away. As said this push a deadline to get done. Super excited milktruckman even is close. Most all events on the other side the country.

Did I mention that we are only about 2-1/2 miles north of Midwest Transit. They are a big school bus dealer and there are always a ton of used buses for sale over there. Might be a good opportunity to take a look if you are planning to do a conversion.

Chain Of Lakes is now taking reservations for the July 26 Rally. I'm in site#272. There are only a few sites that list full shade.

Here's the reservation site

If you are planning on going to the Chain of Lakes rally get you reservations in. I'm told the spaces fill early for that weekend. Many popular state parks are booked full 6 months ahead of time for summer weekends.

Wow! This looks like it's going to be a great turnout and its not even spring yet. I had a feeling this would take off. How big is that lot Bill?

The whole place is 5-1/2 acres. It’s all pretty flat but one side of the back yard is higher than the other. Hopefully we get some dry weather and the high side is good and hard. We will see about the low side.

Should be able to line 8 buses up on the higher side. Maybe a few in the middle.

I’ll be driving my bus out back when we are getting closer to make sure it is good and solid

My bus weighs about 26,500lbs. There probably won’t be any heavier Skoolies. But a coach would weigh more.

I’ll keep everyone updated.

Unless we get an unusually wet spring/summer like last year I don't think you should have any problem. My place has a lot of clay, last summer there were a lot of places I couldn't even mow.

Not sure but you might have already exceeded your capacity.

Looking toward the road from the house

Looking the other direction. These two pictures are about 1/4 of what we mow.

Referring to parking spaces. Sounds like there is a lot of interest in the event already. I'm looking forward to seeing other buses. The one I am building is the only skoolie I've seen in person.

I’m interested, but not on Facebook so I can’t use that group. I’m in brownsburg so I’ll try to make my way down there after my road trip this summer.
