If Jason goes I can convoy down with him, he's a handy guy to have on a long trip - he knows how to keep a skoolie running.

Is this going to be a family friendly thing? We have a 2 year old and are expecting another in less than a month, maybe we can get a sitter for one.. but I doubt both.
It should definitely be family friendly. All of the places I suggested are family friendly and they have stuff that kids like to do (playgrounds, swimming, fishing etc.). Even the loud beer drinking place. There's plenty for kids to do there too. I have a 9 year old and a 1 year old. I think the majority of people on this board have kids.

Re: Lets start planning a gathering for 2008!

I'm up for this but I'm sure most of us need plenty of notice as to exact dates.I often need up to 6 months notice for time off. My only need would be spaces that are not muddy with ruff landscaping. Flat grass areas are good and gravel is also ok. As for restrooms I have my own but my tanks are kinda small so I would need water and sewer hookups or unless the showers are wheelchair accessible. If I have to I can make daily trips to a dump station that would be ok too.

count me out. Although i'd like to hang out with other skoolies, i have a difficult time justifying the $2K in fuel.

You could drive to my house and ride with me. I'm sure everyone would love to see a jacuzzi bus in action but meeting the creator would be the next best thing. Plus we can take turns driving my bus.

Yeah, and now that somebody used the Buy it Now feature on your bus sale, you should be able to afford the $2K in gas!

Re: Lets start planning a gathering for 2008!

We should figure out where the geographical center of us skoolie owners is... what I mean is take a map with all of us on it as dots and find the center of that... that way it may be closer for a lot of people. I know there's a map on here somewhere with all of our locations on it.

$700 in fuel for me plus $2,000 for Jason (even if he did just strike gold) is a lot of money.

Maybe we can get this show to sponsor our traveling costs to get all the bus's in one location, in exchange for letting them make a show out of our bus's. Seems fair to me, I mean they're collecting advertisement money in exchange for a program.A sitcom would pay actors for their role in the show. Hell if the cast of Sienfield and Friends each received $1,000,000 per episode I would imagine travel expenses would be nothing, even if there's fewer viewers.

Re: Lets start planning a gathering for 2008!

There used to be a map type thing on the board somewhere with a thumbtack everywhere a member lived, but I can't remember how or where I found it. I do recall there were a fair number of us in the northern midwest.

I've always like the U.P. if it comes down to a regional get together

Wow, further than I thought at 1300 miles one way, so 270 gallons puts us around $900.

Doable, so we would probably be in, depends on dates selected. We are amiable to roughing it or living it up in a camp-ground.

Cool! Thanks, Wmah. I knew the site had a goofy name, but I sure wasn't going to remember Frappr.

So....can everyone go ahead and add their pins on that map so we can get a better idea of demographics?

It would appear that with the exception of a few Canadian (Canadien?) outliers I am the only one from the frozen north.
