I couldn't remember either so I cheated.
I search on msn for "skoolie map"

I thought steve had a link on one of the pages somewhere too.

Re: Lets start planning a gathering for 2008!

How about making a map for people that want or might want to go to "The Gathering" instead of one that lists all the members.

Re: Lets start planning a gathering for 2008!

Good thinking, obviously the distance we have to travel (more so the money required to travel that distance) would be a big factor for a lot of us. I wouldn't miss a skoolie event for the world if it were in my hometown.

He has enough acreage inside the thing to plant his own field of soybeans, harvest them, press them, and filter them.

Re: Lets start planning a gathering for 2008!

Well a 60 foot bus could hold a lot of people for a trek to a skoolie convention, no?

Is anyone else having trouble creating a new frappr map? I was going to do it for the skoolie convention idea, but couldn't get it to work. Perhaps someone else wants to take a crack at it?

Re: Lets start planning a gathering for 2008!

Well, I've got a frappr map (sort of). They've changed how the do some of the stuff so I still need to do some tweaking to get it on line, but will hopefully have it up tonight or tomorry.

Even though I will appear on the map, I will not be able to participate in it, so please do not include me in your calculations. Just figured providing the map would be a way for me to participate.

I'll post again when [edit: scratch that IF, scratch that IT AIN'T] available

Re: Lets start planning a gathering for 2008!

[rant] Well, I screwed the pooch on that one! HOURS later I STILL can't even get it to add MYSELF to the frippn' frappr, much less get it to open up for anyone else! I had to break out my trusty Skoolie Members Jacket (with the extra long sleeves and the buckles on the back) just to keep from throwing my poor innocent PC which is TOTALLY faultless (in this case) out the bus window!

What really tears my shirt is that I used to have another frappr map a few years ago that was no problem to administrate, but when that group disbanded, I deleted it. I don't know what in thunder frappr is doing differently now, but it sure ain't working! [/rant]

Someone else with more testicular fortitude may want to try to go up against this wall, but I'm done, sorry folks!

Maybe we could throw a temporary bogus page up on the 'net, anyone planning on going to the meet just go to the url and we could track the locations via urchin? Yes? No?

This Frappr thing sounds waaaayyyy too complicated. We should just keep it simple and have the gathering in OKC!

Re: Lets start planning a gathering for 2008!

well that would be 3867km's for me one way if I take the shortest route, which knowing me probably would not happen. so roughly 4000 x 2= 8000km's consumption (hopefully around) 25lt's per 100 km's (ca. 10miles to the gallon) 80x25=2000 lt's @ $1 = $2000 in fuel, hmmm sounds expensive, but diesel in the states is cheaper and if the Canadian $ keeps rising then it will be even better to travel in the states.
Count us in if it is planed for July or August of course that is if my Bus actualy gets done by then.

anyway you can count me in wherever, I could host as well in Colorado but some of you guys might struggle a bit getting your skoolies to 10k ft.

Yeah I agree, I though it'd be as simple as looking at some dots on a map and finding a center closer for all of us. I'll have to see how my finances are, and if I could get time off at the time of the trip, it sounds like fun to meet everyone and check out other skoolies.
