Need Info route Northern BC to Yellowstone

Hi all,
we are planning a quick trip down to the states first 2 weeks in August, only got 2 weeks of vacation so it will be a quick one. Thinking about going to Yellowstone and need some info. traveling with a 40' skoolie. What can you guys that have been there or are from around there reccommend. What route should we travel where should we stop, what needs to be seen.
Was thinking of coming down HWY 2 from Calgary or 93 from the BC interior.
the kids also want to go somewhere with a warm sandy beach as we dont have that up here.
So any tips are appreciated.

I guess you could come down through Crows Nest and fiddle around near Kalispell. Then you could then head down to I-90 and head east to Livingston and go south from there into the park. Unless you want to travel all secondary roads. If thats the case, you could come south of Cardston and go a bunch of different ways.

Hmmm...warm sandy beach...in MT.....

Man, I was up in Great Falls in 2006 and again in 2007..... both times it was late June and early July. Visited with my son & family stationed at the Air Base there... Made the trip up to Glacier National Park with stops in Yellowstone, Surgis,
Mt. Rushmore, Badlands and even stopped at Walls drug store..... We covered 11 states on the way up and 13 on the way back.... Great trip!!!!

And what stops are a must on this trip, any issues through the parks with the bus being to big?

You know, I have never fished Trout Creek, so lets just both make the assumption there is trout in it.
If you are going to run by this way, holler here or send smoke signals or something.

All the above ....LOL
The trip was done in a 36 ft motorhome (gasser) towing a jeep wrangler... averaged around 6mpg....
We did not take the motorhome to any of the stops. We would get a camp site and used the jeep for site seeing....
I am pretty sure there is a limit on lenght and width for (going to the sun road) at GNP. Road is narrow and lots of traffic. Lots of campgrounds around GNP but we parked in Great Falls, MT. and drove up and back, spend the night at ST. Marys on the eastern side.
At Yeollowstone we stopped in Livingston, MT. camp site and drove into Yellowstone from the north side, was an all day trip going around the upper and lower loops inside the park. we saw a lot but not all.
Mt Rushmore was a piece of cake, camped in Rapid City, ND and drove up. only spend the day on the mountain and left early the next morning.

I would not take my bus or motorhome to either place if you can help it. the traffic is at a crawl in both Glacier and Yellowstone.
There are campgrounds inside Yellowstone but we never used them.

I read the sign everytime I go through there. I think its 21'. Going To The Sun just opened finally. You surely dont want to do that in anything bigger than a Suburban.
