Passenger limits??

Hey Skoolies,
Anyone know for sure how many passengers you can legally transport in a skoolie (licensed as an RV, no CDL)??
My bus only has a drivers seat and carpeted floors. I'm lining up a trip to a festival and have about 16 friends needed a ride so I figured I'd better get my legalities straight first.
Haven't been able to find a legal answer anywhere!
If you have experience with this....might you know what the consequences would be for exceeding any set passenger limit?
Please help. Thanks!

OP was asking as licensed as an RV without a CDL.

Re: Passenger limits??

how many does your insurance agency say ?
I think it varies by state, but its normally like 16 or so i think. when busses are purchased, normally you have to take (unbolt and stack) out most of the seats to be legal before you drive off, but few people do that.

Re: Passenger limits??

It's all going to depend on what state/Province you are registered in. Consult the Vehicle Code for for your State/Province for the answer, most of them are one line now.
