What yall think? Kangaroo is great, but I've been meaning to try out camel...
I had some lovely kangaroo in Australia... yum! Especially when cooked in a crock pot.
I also had camel when I lived in Abu Dhabi... it is also delicious, as is the milk! But, I like Roo much better ;)

Well- we'll have to make some chili this winter even if we don't end up making it to Arizona. Sounds like you've traveled a bit!

The past 10 years I've traveled all over the world delivering babies

People pay me to deliver their babies and all of my travel and accommodation, it's a pretty sweet deal. Retiring from that in April, after 45 countries in 10 years. I plan on walking the Camino de Santiago with my granddaughter in June/July in Spain and then hopefully hitting the road with the WanderLust Bus in September for a one year trip around this country.

I'd totally be up for some chili here in FL this winter!

I have been several years ago and plan to be there again this year.

Any of you that can't make it to AZ for "Skoolie Palooza" event should try to attend the Arcadia event.

Like I said most of the buses at Arcadia are going to be converted "Charter or over the road buses such as retired Greyhounds and Trailways buses" but there are a few Skoolies and city transit buses that have been converted too.

You are confusing the events. The winter event went off perfectly (it was the 6th one)
The summer event was run off because they had a lot of people, and no permit Bob did not expect many at all so he did not see a permit for his first summer event. We will be covered for this one.

Attn dog/pet owners:

Cholla cactus may be present as well as other types. Dogs keep their noses on the ground a lot and that's where cholla becomes a danger to them.

my dog got stuck by several cholla cactus in her paws, legs

Cholla clumps drop off the main plant and get blown around everywhere...Watch where YOU walk also. Cholla have been called the jumping cactus, they don't jump but it will seem like it!

A/o today our ETA is Jan 9.

Good point.
Cholla is nearby, but a leashed dog should have no problems at all. Our area is more similar to pavement than desert, but there are quite a few varieties of stickies surrounding us.

Bring a leash for your dogs, and keep them out of trouble.

Cholla can be combed out of fur and hide with a pocket comb. Saves your fingers

that kind of terrain is pretty easy to drive on for most any tires.. as long as it doesnt rain like crazy.. but I think the rainy season down there is more July/august than January?

Just an FYI for those with Facebook, an event was created for people attending. We had a Skoolie gathering in Dallas a few weeks ago and a lot from that gathering will be attending, who may or may not chime in here! Check it out if you're on Facebook, it's easier to get an idea of how many will be making an appearance.

Thanks!

If you want to add me as a friend on Facebook, just search "Zack Andrews IBM" I'm the one standing at the top of a bluff overlooking a river
