tailgating at ISU football games

Does anyone know what time busses will be allowed to get into the lots for the ISU vs. Iowa game? I've never taken a bus there before, do I need to show up early to avoid a long wait in line or anything?

It's always been 6 hours before the game. So for the Illinois State we will be able to get in at noon. ( I will probably get in line around 10AM )

For morning games, most of us show up the night before and park in the Vet Med parking lot until about 4Am when we line up at the lot waiting to get in. Then at around 6 they let us in the lot.

I will be at all the home games with my bus, unless something else comes up.

We're planning to take our bus up for the game as well, but likely wont leave DSM until 7:00am. 2 years ago, we made it to the Vet Med turnoff and they told us all the lots were full.

Pulled into the parking area there and had a blast with all the other people parking & tailgating there.

I'm going to get the bus out and make sure everything is ready. I have a lot of areas I should sand down and repaint.

Perhaps i can come back to iowa for a game before it gets too cold. I really can't stop for the game on my way home from burningman. There are too many people and too much stuff on teh bus. Not to mention all the sand and dust from the desert. It'll take a couple weeks just to get her all cleaned up. I work this weekend as well.

If i burned 50% veggie, i could do it for aboug $250 round trip. @$3.00/gallon of diesel.

I'll be there early on Saturday the 10th. I imagine I'll be leaving Carroll, IA at around 5:30AM, it's a little over an hours drive to Ames. You think thats about the right time to get there?

You will most likely be pretty far back in the line, I was planning on getting there around 4AM.

We're leaving DSM at 7:00am sharp, but figuring that we wont get close to the stadium lots. We'll settle for the Vet school parking area...tons of people there 2 years ago.

I'm going to be going to the ISU vs Nebraska (at Nebraska) game in two weeks. Anyone else going to be there. I think there are some Nebraska fans on the site.
