Thanks, i've had alot of fun working on it. well i guess i'd call it fun. can barely lift my right arm after torqing all of the ubolts yesterday. but i'll call it fun none the less as for as having the resources, i've got very little in this phase of the bus. the dualy that was the donor for most of the parts i'm using paid for itself when i sold the cab of of it.

my wife and i are expecting our first baby any day now, so my time to work on the bus is going to steeply decline shortly. luckly i've gotten enough done in the last month or so that it shouldn't be too hard to finish the rest of it up before september when Aggie football fires back up! reguardless paint is going to have to wait at least until next year. the old IHC is going to require a good bit of body work, she has alot of cancer. looking foward to seeing what you do with big mac too.

I have until 7JUN to get anything done. My wife's ride needs to come first. She has a white M1009 I'm in the middle of cancer-proofing. It was a Nevada Forestry truck we got for $450. It runs & drives, but needs LOTS of interior work. She told me I had to get her truck finished BEFORE working on Big Mac. My classes finish on 20AUG. I'll be deep into the books and clinicals. After that I'm looking forward to getting a job! 18 months is a loooooong time to be unemployed.

Question, why was the dually a donor truck? Accident? Rollover? Just curious.....

i wanted to go for a higher gear ratio on the rear end, and independant front suspention. before the bus would run 70, but would be turning better than 4grand. prior to modification the bus weighed within a few 100 lbs of exactly what the dually weighed so i figured it would work good. i found it on craigslist around montgomery, just happened to be priced right. had been sitting out with no hood on it for about 7 years, so engine was full of water (had a 454 in it). somewhere before me the bus had a 455 big block olds put in it with a turbo 400 tranny. all the mains were leaking on the 455 and a rebuild kit was so i that i decided to put a 6.2 diesel in it and stumbled across a '93 6.5 w/ a turbo (last year before they went computerized)

so i guess the short of it is becuase i can't do anything they easy way and i wanted to see if i could do it. plus i'd seen some pictures of simular year model buses that had something simular done to them.

that will get you a ticket these days. she can go to college anywhere she wants, and her mom and I will even pay for it if it is A&M.

You might want to start looking for a bigger bus right now, so you can squeeze little bits of time in here an there for decking it out, because your free time just shrunk to almost nil!

It is alive!! got the old bus started yesterday. updates, new fancy alum radiator, lokar floor shifter (to be installed this week) new rubber(slightly used, also to be installed this week), other items on the way. dual electric fans for the radiator, new thremostat, throttle linkage, under dash ac kit, condensor/dryer/etc. still need to build a mount for the transmission cooler. then rebuild the firewall/floorboard. 40 days till the first football game. pleanty of time!
