Well I kind of got the bus back from the painter. He needs it back to finish the top off. I was able to paint some of the interior and install a stereo. I still didn't get to paint over the crappy almond color. That will probably have to wait until next year to become smoke gray.

Simple two tone paint scheme.

Pioneer deck, Punch 6"x9"s, and a 120 GB iPod. I also redid the switch plate and added a volume control for an external rear speaker.

I mounted a little sub I got on closeout from partsexpress behind the driver's seat in the battery bank enclosure/bench. There's an amp in there as well.

On the left you'll see the speaker terminal plate for the external speaker. I'll eventually cover it with an external two gang plate cover.

The bathroom was painted to resemble the old outhouse that was always on top of the Aggie bonfire. I also painted the benches maroon, the bathroom interior white, and applied bedliner to the driver's area. Hopefully, I'll get some better pics this weekend once I get everything cleaned up.

Sorry, I missed your question earlier. I'll have to measure in a couple of weeks when I see the bus again.

Nice tailgater, I was wondering how you have your batteries and inverter set? I am looking at an inverter/charger setup with maybe two 255 amp hour batteries and then have a generator backup. I have also been told the inverter should be true sine wave so you don't damage your flat screen and audio equipment.

I'm trying to figure out what the electrical plug on the outside of your bus is for.... im assuming that you can plug in the bus to give it power when it is parked. If so, that is awesome and Could you PLEASE let me know how you did that and what all is involved.
The plug on the back serves two purposes. One side is to plug the generator into the bus to run the rooftop AC or whatever while the other plug is to tap into the battery bank coming out.

I have 3 Optima blue top batteries and a Cobra inverter I got from http://www.partsexpress.com. I actually only use the battery bank for the kegerator, toilet, bathroom light, and stereo, but it could be used for the video displays as well if needed. I usually use my generators for the TVs.

Re: 1989 GMC Aggie Tailgater

The bus is almost ready for this season. Just need to get it inspected and figure out a battery/glow plug issue.

Nice! Looks great with paint on it... The diamond plate accents are sharp also!
