I ran into a snag in trying to park even the van at certain places here in Georgia. Part of it had to do with the rental. I was limited by 50 miles per day. This didn't give me a lot of chance to drive around searching for for spots to park.

I had some hope for a Wal-Mart for one night at least. I pulled towards the outer section of the lot not too far from a pickup with a small trailer (truck doors open / trailer closed). I went inside to grab a pillow and sleeping bag. When I came back out and was just sitting in the van the security guard I saw parked at the front of the store had pulled up to the truck. A couple minutes go by and the truck and family load up and leave. A minute later a police car pulls up and chats with the security guard.

Now I'm not too far away but all doors closed on the van. I could have gotten away with being there for a bit but not overnight. So I headed out to my destination for the next day. It was more in the country and I took a few minutes looking for a spot. Actually passed by what could have been a good spot, land for sale off a rural highway. It was up a slightly roughed in path and could have parked back on the lot as the edges were wooded. I ended up finding a gas station that had some semis parked in the back of the large lot. No signs of activity from the trucks so they may have just been parked there for local drivers instead at their own homes. I waited until the station closed and the 30 minutes after until the employee turned out the lights and left, before heading to bed.

Now if I had some more miles at my disposal (like in my own bus) I could have driven around more looking for a place or driven to a posted "safe" Wal-Mart or free camping spot. Or even a campsite I had researched that would have been $15 a night. The penalty charge for overage was $.59 a mile, returned it this morning with 11 miles to spare.

A lots been going on since May. Not as much as I'd like to have done on the bus, but it's gaining momentum now.

Replacement floor down for the living area. Built a bed frame Wednesday

Broke a rear window Thursday.

Finishing the bed frame and storage underneath in the next few days.

Haven't done much lately, finished the bed and now have to work on the under bed storage and cabinet. Then the back "garage" area, then adding an extra seat up front
