Howdy All, I am still here (more or less). But afraid I'm not keeping up on the latest Skoolie news. Drop in every once in a while but don't usually stay very long.

Latest news on this end is that one Skoolie member here has said he wants to buy the bus. He is quite a ways from me and it will be tricky but seems serious. We will see.

Still hoping to keep it all together and have someone finish it out.

Also still doing chemo. Last round was Friday a week ago and I am just now beginning to come out from under it's initial effects. Still tired as Hell but nothing like the first few days.

Anyhow...just wanted to say hello and once again thank everyone for the good vibes. I will take all I can get.

It's great to hear from you, and see that you're still fighting!

It's also good to see that someone has saved me from having to buy your bus myself. I've been obsessing about it for weeks!

Hey Don! Sorry to read about your health issues. I've been busy with moving three (soon to be FOUR) times up here in Kansas. You're in my prayers now! Miss you buddy!

Great to hear from you, Don.
Where is your buyer located? Seems that, MAYBE, someone could arrange a way to wrangle up enough of us, to help out with the delivery issue. Just a thought, but it might just work. Something like a "Old West" mail delivery system.

I fully realize that many of my thoughts seem to come out the 'wrong' end, butt sometimes they stick!

Glad you are feeling better, and can only hope that it lasts a while.

Spoke to a fella in Minnesota yesterday about your bus. He saw mine and said he,was thinking of building one but wanted something older then mine , and a chevy. So showed him the forum and the posts about your bus. No idea if he is just talk or not. He did talk the right mechanical stuff, so expect he would be capable.

I was there picking up a 6-71 Detroit.

Prayers and good vibes.

Assuming you still need a buyer, have you considered consignment? The proceeds to your daughter, and whatnot. Maybe any one of the shops that have done work for you could show the rig on their premises.

Just the same, thanks for sharing your build, and here's hoping you get a good day soon.

Don is having another round of chemo today.
Delivered and read by Tango on 26 June, following is a link for those who'd care to share their thoughts with him:

Sad news my friends. I got an email from Don's daughter.

Hi Guido-
This is Shannon Tucker-Kawalec, Don's daughter. I am trying to go through his email and make sure everyone has been informed. Unfortunately, Don Passed a couple of weeks ago. He battled lung cancer for quite some time, and he did not win this fight. If there is anything you need from me, please reach out. He was very loved and there will be a memorial on Friday, October 18th in Houston. If you are interested in details, please let me know.
Best,
Shannon

He told us it was imminent, but that don't make it any easier. Where did the '46 end up? I hope it's still in one piece.

we lost an incredible man and a fantastic artist...

I had the opportunity to hang out with don last year.. initially we got together to figure out how to A/C the 46 while it was in motion... next thing i know im watching him turn ordinary bags of quik-crete into beautiful sculpture like id never seen... all by hand with a helper... if you have never had an opportunity to see his artwork.. search for it!!

afterwords we were sucking down whiskey jamming to a live band in the 'REHAB' bar..

the man never grew up.. you know that dream all of us have as kids where we say I never want to grow up? yeah that was don.. doing the things he loved.. building, creating, helping others build and create through his art studio, listening to the music he loved.. yes!!

the 46 was going toi be his way to spread more positive energy and share in art, and creativity.. I sure hope someone underastands this and continues the journey!
