94 Ford E350 196K buy or not to buy

Looking at buying a 94 Ford E350 with 196K and a 5.7 Windsor gas engine at a local salvage yard, seems to be in reasonable condition. Asking price is $1,000.00

To those with experience on short buses is that milage to high to consider? Would I expect to see reasonable service life still from that drive train. I know it depends wildly, but just assume average service history. starts runs and stops ok, can't take it out on the highway but drives ok at slower speeds.

I close the deal tomorrow, so let me know. Thanks

If it runs good and is not rusty then it would be good with me. I once converted an E350 4x4 ambulance to camping van and spent to much time and money on the conversion. The rust beat me after 4 years. There is likely a reason why it is in the salvage yard. Do they have the title. If the salvage yard has more E350 then check if some parts of those are better.. tires ... radiator .. batteries and as if you can exchange those.

Good luck.

Be careful. The addiction is hard to shake. I'm possibly about to own a 3rd bus!
