Did not even think about that thanks for reminding me, i think i can intigrate a small fan & some small ductwork. Just switch it on when im running electronics or something. Back to the thinking board.

im thinking like 2 computer fans... one blowing in and one blowing out... then insulate that area against the outside.. those 3 or 4 inch 12 volt vans could even be made to run easily on a small solar panel and run all the time when its hot.. use a filter on the inbound one.. then your radios will stay cool always in the hot sun... if its not sunny enough for the solar panel to make power.. its likely not sunny enough to make the radios too hot..

Dunno, Dopamine... Those pipes look kinda SMALL to me... (-ducking-)

On a serious note, I am following your mischief closely. Very curious if this wakes the beastie up a bunch, or if its just "meh".

Either way it comes out, note thst I'd do the same ghing you are because its just, and right, and reflective of a pursuit of perfection that is admirable!

I am usually very careful about what i buy of ebay. After contacting the seller he assured me he will send the proper ones & i can keep the wrong pair. So i have an extra pair for anyone on the fourm. That is reading this message.

Well, that's one nice looking turbo. You ceramic coated it? Maybe the nicest lookin turbocharger I ever seen. But me bein' me, I just have to ask one question: WTF is the point?

If you really want to make a difference in how that 7.3 runs (and this will make a drastic difference) here's what you do:

1. Find a way to hang an intercooler on that thing, because as I understand it the 7.3 vans have no intercooler. This is crucial to extracting any kind of real power out of it.

2. Remove the ECM and send it to Jody Tipton at DP Tuner (google it). He'll reflash it for like $110 and you'll think its a different truck. I've had his 80hp tune in my F350 for 10 years now, and it was the best single mod I ever made. Engine runs way smoother, is almost too responsive, and the damn truck is faster than any 8000lb vehicle ought to be...

Tell him the guy that lost his wedding ring sent you...

Wtf is the point.? The point is cause i can, why the hell wouldnt i.? I rebuild & upgrade turbos on a daily basis, so for me to not upgrade & get as much out of my personal turbo would just be absurd.
Yes i ceramic coated the turbo.

Im not looking for H.P gain im looking for better fuel & just overall running efficiency.

Fair enuf; but do get hold of DP Tuner. That will make a much bigger improvement than anything you can do yourself. Ford's engine and transmission programming is always a compromise between satisfying the consumer and satisfying the weasels at the EPA. Jody's programming will optimize your vehicle for driveability. Better MPG too...if you can keep your foot out of it.

just like when i built hot-rods people didnt believe me when i said i could get better MPG's AND more power using a 4 barrel holley instead of a 2 barrel or a rochester..

its all in how you adjust it.. with the computers you can do about anything!

if I get the second bus iom looking at it has the IHC 7.3, wonder if that can be tuned too? i know its a little different thsn the ford version.
