not a short bus , but somewhere in my thread you will see how I did my co-pilot seat, works well slides forward, and turns around as well

I wonder about that too, since my bus is chevy express/savana cabin and the doghouse is in the middle is kinda hard to have the seat at the same level without having to cover the stairs a bit, I'm still thinking about this.

Sorry, I didn't find the pictures of the co pilot seat install. If you get the time could you see if you can find details on you seat setup. If I can't get it right it will be a show stopper.

I found the thread with their buddy seat install. It is a little bit complicated, and looks like I'll be sticking to my milk crate for a while, myself.

I've had an idea of having a seat swivel from the grab pole behind the drivers. seat. It would set where Roach keeps "his" cooler, but swivel out for a co-pilot seat position when needed. I think the pole, itself, would need to be strengthened, and some type of brake/stop designed, but I think it's doable. It could also work from the pole closer to the door. and double as a dinette seat. A few more Tequila shots, and I might come up with more detail.

I keep thinking I'll come across a fold-up delivery van jump seat, or an unsuspecting UPS driver who won't notice his is missing... ;)

We have the foam padded half barrier next to the stairs (with the grabrail in front of it) so I don't have many good places to bolt to, either on the floor or the wall.

Need to see if there's somewhere we could swivel one in and out of the way like you describe. Bring on the Jose Cuervo and more details!

[/URL][/IMG] Theres not alot of room to have everything we want-so there was a bunch of wiggling to find the right position. But the compromise seems to work. I can slide the seat all the way forward + have plenty of room-I can squeeze a full sized cooler past the back.

The base is a Ford factory one-found at a swap meet-really heavy duty. But I previously had a standard swivel base. Both of them can swivel around-although it takes some playing around with arm rest/back /slider position.

Heres the seat slid back. You gotta kinda climb in over the corner-and the leg room isn't NBA perfect-but it works. (Different years have different dog houses-yours might be better.

Jose has me believing that I better plan on some help, designing the "swivel" seat. IF I am in town when the "Houston bunch" meets in a few weeks, maybe we can drink up some good ideas. Tango, with his build, has proven to me that he is a design kind of guy. I'm sure that most of them have already forgotten more than I know.

Let's all keep our thinkin' caps on....

That is pretty much what I was looking for. The right seat for the right job. Sturdy compact base and a seat with a long slide. This should make the purchasing decision easier.

Chili... My understanding is that they will meet at Renfest, but I can't find the post, either. Maybe some one will see this and reply.

sdwarf.... The Ford base was what I thought would work, but I was thinking about mounting the base, on some kind of rollers, so that it could swing completely out of the way when not in use. It would require some sort of stop/brake/ lock to secure it in position. It may not work, but then again, it may. Thanks for the pictures.

Love the onenation co-pilot seat!!..

I need a co-pilot first before I make a seat!

in the busses with the V-8's like the conventional t-444e you have a flat floor... almost enough room to bolt a seat down to the left of the stairwell..

Pics DO NOT do their seat justice!
It's NASA quality engineering and execution! I rode in that thing and I will definitely be emulating their design. Its sturdy and SAFE!

I was totally wowed by that seat. Really nice kids, hope we cross paths again sometime.
