what about a box off of a U-haul? that would make a nice enclosed area for luggage, bikes, tools, etc.. you could even locate your tanks in there too ..

That would make an awesome 5er tow rig.
I have run into a few of the RV delivery guys in my travels. They are easy to pick out in the WalMart parking lot.
They are the ones sleeping in the cab of their truck while hooked up to a brand new 5er....
Build out the bus as an "enhanced" sleeper, put on a 5th wheel hitch and start hauling...

There is a thread here covering a bus that was rust ravaged and the gent made a big flatbed out of it.
When I saw that I started looking at short busses that you could "bob" the body and mount a 5th wheel hitch.
You already own the rig that I would build for that purpose.

Hello fellow Ohioans. I'm from Cols OH of 45 yrs then moved family with me to ElkhartIN to deliver RVs. I'm pickin up my 02 Short Internat'nl 6window. I just won the bid on it, my 1st bus, that I'm pickin up Tuesday in MD. I plan to drive mine from MD to Cols, without tags if need be,lol, it's just 400 mi.
I bought it to cut the rear 5 Windows 3/4 of body off, but I planned to keep the floor, but don't NEED to. I'm then adding 102" square flatbd welded under rear of frame behind rear axle. A Stepped flatbed I guess, to pull one small travel Trlr Up Onto, then 1 Trlr behind. Planned to scrap the part y'all want to keep. Maybe we already know what... Sorry not enough posts for pics yet

How do you haul one on bed and drop off at destination?
I can see hauling boats, because most dealers have A-Frame boat lifts... But a travel trailer on a flatbed is a whole different animal.
Unloading dock and a powered mule?

Not sure if you are referring to my comment but the 5th wheel is pulled on its own wheels behind the tow vehicle not carried by the two vehicle.
Look at their rig a 5th wheel hitch mounted to the bobtail.
I have to stop looking at this thread or I am going to start trying to buy the damn thing....
