Ford E350 Corbiel 7.3 5 window

Hi guys,

I've been in and out of this site a few times, but not had time to post. I am now coming to the closing stages of my short schoolie conversion (but i am aware the work will never really end) and thought i'd share.

I started with a retired 2000 Ford E350 Corbiel built 5 window, single wheel bus. After one year of blood sweat and tears, i now have our bus mostly the way i want it, and being used as a daily driver.

Mechanically, we replaced the batteries, hoses, water pump, rad, alt, power steering pump, brakes, gaskets, filters, fluids etc. Internally, we ripped it all out and built it up form the floor, adding insulation, a 2.5kW inverter, decent stereo etc.

The idea was never to go full motorhome, but to supplement our travel trailer space with a little more living room, while making a comfortable tow vehicle.

I've put about 10,000km on "Monte" since his rebirth and so far all's well.

I have benefited greatly from guys like you posting your trials and tribulations, and so i am happy to share what few nuggets of knowledge i picked up along the way.

Here's a few pics to get you going, and please feel free to ask any questions.

Nice one. Same as ours. Corbeil? It looks more like a Girardin with the side wall slightly curved out.
Are you sleeping length wise?

Morning.

Yes, it's a corbiel. We have built it with use as an occasional camper in mind. The bench seats are 8' x 6' and the bench at the back is 6' 6". I intend to make fittings so we can fit a "when needed" bunk, allowing 4 people to sleep in reasonable comfort.

We dont have any plumbing, but i think this will still be a lot more comfortable and dryer than a tent!

video

Hi guys

I just publish this video on utube. I'm no moviemaker, but it should give you an idea of what we started with and what we ended up with. Lots of problem solving and learning along the way, but we're pretty happy with the results.

I know a old topic
However how well does it tow . And did you use a e350 regular hitch.

I like the size for the fact it should get around nicely.
I could take that and install a rack. For solar and pull our boat all at the same time

Can you explain the programming for the engine. I have owned my 7.3 idi since 1988
Just curious how well that works as I found a 1997 5 window single wheel

my single wheel 2000 7.3 tows just fine with 4.10 diff. i was worried about the overhang, but no concerns as long as you check tyre pressure and have good rubber. i rebuilt the trans with double torque converter etc and have a tuner for extra hp/torqe, but it's fine in standard spec.
