Well our trip has come to an end. We had a really fun time in Moab despite the heat, but due to a lack of funds and a lead on work back home... we decided to come back to VA a little early. We had an AMAZING time traveling in our little bus and hope we have inspired others to take the leap and get out there too!
Home Sweet Home!
SO.. Ang and I are still working on finishing up articles and looking at our video... I am parked behind my friends apartment, chipping in on utilities but living primarily in the bus still. But I'm sooo excited because the bus is back in RENOVATION MODE!! As I have mentioned in previous posts, I am an artist (
http://www.johnsondaniel.com) and would really like to own my own shop one day. But since that requires a ton of money that I don't have, I plan on transforming the bus in to a mobile gallery instead! The tricky part is I still need to live in it and ideally be able to take it out for weekend adventures.
Renovations begin!
As you can see, I have already removed the couch, platform, water tank (for now), shower, shelving, and rear heater. I also put an AC unit in the back window now that I have a regular power source again. I want to build panel walls that will fit as snug to the sides as feasible, but also be easily removed for travel. I need to figure out how to raise the bus up some so I can relocate the water tank and veg. tank underneath. I think just 6 more inches would give me the room I need but I'm not sure what all that entails. Just bigger springs/shocks? Last step is to tackle the vendors license application.. Anyway, next update will probably be in a new thread but we'll post updates on the Green Energy Project here too. Thanks for all the support skoolie friends!
