My boyfriend is 6'. As you can tell I am WAYYY shorter. I've never been so happy to be short in my life. At 4'11 I fit perfectly in our bus. So far with no ceiling on, my boyfriend fits pretty well. Once the floor is in and the ceiling is in, he'll have to duck a bit. It's going to suck for him, but he says he's ok with it. I have a feeling after a while he won't feel that way. I'm doing everything I can to keep head space. Our floors are as thin as we could possibly make them with insulation and we plan on doing the same for the ceiling. Every centimeter counts when you're tall!

I found my bus at Don Brown bus sales. I was obsessed with this size the minute I saw it and hunted forever to find one. I couldn't find any info about the model. I just look based on number of passengers.

I'm sure we'll need to make some adjustments to the seat. Haven't really looked into legality of it yet. We'll get there when we get there!

Hi Sharon!
Thanks for your kind words! We spoke to some fellow bus dwellers who have been on the road and strongly advised against putting a shower in. They basically said they never use theirs and when they do it is not a satisfying shower anyways. They gave us advice on how we can use rest stops/gyms to wash up. We also plan on traveling and staying with friends along our travels so we should have access to showers.

That being said, we do have a genius plan for an outdoor shower! We are planning on installing an outdoor shower off the back door of the bus. We will have a collapsible hula hoop with a shower curtain that will drop down from the door for privacy. We are really excited about this idea... but right now, that's all it is... an idea. We will see how it comes out!

Tons of progress (and mistakes) over the past 2 months.

We've renovated the cabinets, restored barn wood, built storage, and drawers. You can read about it in more detail on the blog at Hoophouse - HOOPHOUSE BUS
