In the second pic around the screw sticking through the floor, all that bubbling around it is rust coming through the floor, it'll look much worse on top.

I live in the "rust belt" Ohio. That is considered rust free in my area. If you can get a basketball through the rust hole, Then its got rust issues.

Not too bad by my standards. I also dwell in the rust belt.

If you can poke a hole in it with your finger or another blunt object, it's rusty!
The level of rust is hard to tell from your pics, but it doesn't look too bad from what you're showing?

There are areas in the second pic that look suspect and need further exploration. I also live in the rust belt and seen much worse.

However, I am picky and therefore bought a rust free Crown in CA

Rust free here and lovin' it.
Hope to get another 20 years out of this bus.
Would not personally consider the bus in your pics to put big $$$ into remodeling into a motorhome...

Because beggars can't be choosers? When I got my bus, it was spend $3k and drive it home from MI to NY, or spend $5k and drive it home from AZ to NY. If money was no issue, I wouldn't be building an RV out of a bus! :P
