I am Back

Hello, Dr. John is back. I have taken a project which put me back a year. I have a micro bus now. 2002 Chevy Girardin. Bluebird bought this company some time ago.

Anyway, I wanted to post new info about my new project. It will be a work bus. I do computer service and this will be my on sight service vechile. And RV camper.
I will be posting progress reports and picture as I add new things.
Goal is to make the bus as energy efficient as possible. Here are some of them.
1. Solar panels
2. Wind turbine
3. Bathroom / shower
4. Powered table
5. Hot water heater from using engine coolant
6. ALL 12 VDC led lights
7. DC to AC converters.
Any questions or ideas please feel free to email me or post here.

Re: I am Back

Right - a converter is AC to DC. Those are also very handy, especially if you will have a primarily DC-based system. That way you can plug into shore power and run all your DC stuff directly off the shore power rather than cycling your house batteries unnecessarily. I have a 40amp converter at home that is handy for specific things, but my bus is primarily an AC-based system since I am usually connected to shore, so I've not put the converter in my bus.

Flooring to be used.

- Carpet in back seating area.
- Ceramic Tile in kitchem.
- Vinyl Tile in work area.
- Hardwood florring in main walkway, (my wife purchased a pack of 7- 8" x 52" for $5.00 at a yard sale two years ago for the laundryroom. Was not enough told her i will use it somewhere else.)
- Molded vinyl in bathroom, (48" x 96" sheets at Lowes normanaly $32 each. Since the edges were messed up got them for $12.50 each.
- Molded vinyl is a 1/4" thick vinyl wallboard you get at Lowes. I will make a frame then take a heat gun and let the vinyl mold to the form i made. Should work my tests were ok but we shall see .
