Insurance help!! Florida or Georgia

Hi, everyone! I'm new to the community. I bought my first bus a little over 3 weeks ago. It's a 1991 International short bus. 6 rows. Perfect for me. So far I've taken all the seats out, installed electricity, built a queen size bed frame and a box couch with storage inside, installed a large canopy on the drivers side. I've installed four deep cycle batteries, and a dining table. The only other thing I planned to do at this time was a small kichten area. So, my questions have to do with insurance at this point. I had the title easily changed which I thought was the best thing to do. But that definitely did not impress the insurance companies! Lol

I guess they consider this a not finished personal conversion. Which is exactly what it is.

I posted on a thread yesterday about insurance. I've gotten a lot of advice from so many but I do not know what I'm doing wrong! Even when I went through the motions and said yes I have everything they required, because I do have a composting toilet and sink and holding tank to install, they ended up with no because it's a personalnot professional conversion.

Sorry such a long post. My question is if it's possible to get insurance in florida and what companies are a DEFINITE? Also, I live very close to Georgia. Would be it much easier in Georgia?!? Florida seems to be most difficult according to the info on the forums.

Thanks everyone! I can barely wait to get on the road. And I have jobs that I need to be at with the bus the 1st of October so I'm working hard. I just don't seem to know which direction to put my effort towards.

I live in Georgia and was able to get Progressive insurance after going through the motions and was even able to get or registered as a motorhome with nothing really done to it in Atlanta.

What's your status on the insurance? Ever figure it out? I'll be starting my skoolie conversion here in FL soon...
