If I had my choice, money, time, and physical ability....
I'd pull my ceiling panels down, insulate with pink or green polyiso and cedar plank the whole thing.

But, my time got cut short by about 6 months after purchase and had to move in right away.

Didn't get as far as I wanted to today but got everything removed on the driver side wall and started at the back wall until I realized I'm probably going to have to lower the a/c unit to properly do the rear wall correctly. Wanted to finish up removing the rest of the floor but the dumpster at the shop is almost full for the week so I'm gonna have to wait for them to dump it again for more room. Also got most all the wires removed, with the exception of the wires in the roof. So all in all it was a pretty successful weekend. Hopefully I'll have the generator figured out here soon so I can get it mounted.

Still unsure of which route I'm gonna use for insulation, honestly does the floor really need insulation? I'm a tall guy and my head didn't hit with the plywood in there but it was super close, would rather have head room than floor insulation, or at least that's what I'm thinking, I mean the floor wasn't insulated before

On the weekends I have plenty of time, I was gonna leave the ceiling panels but the more I thought about it im tearing them down, in the long run I think itll be better.

has anyone ever spray foamed a short bus? if so what was the cost? is it really worth it?
Also whats the best insulation the buid a box around the generator for heat and sound?

I routed a lot of wires and A/C ducts under my chair rail inside of diversitech refrigerant lineset covers..it snaps together and fit perfect... when I get my bus out again I can snap a pic if you are interested.. but its a nice channel for routing things.

Yes cadillackid I'm always open to any and all ideas, wouldn't mind seeing how to run the wires better.
Also I'm thinking about insulating and building a wall along the back three Windows inside, would just insulation be fine? I don't want moisture getting trapped between the window and the wall.

That looks like a mighty good shop helper dog you've got snoozing on the old seats in a few of those photos!
We are also in Charleston, and getting ready to (finally) do some mods to our 1990 short bus after some downtime.
What's your plan for the bus interior?
We want to keep some seats but make more room for camping gear at the back, and I'm thinking of tackling the wheelchair lift removal.

Thanks, she's a great shop dog. I completly stripped everything and starting from scratch, planning on making a couch with a bunk bed up top and and putting one on each side. So it'll sleep 4 comfortably, gonna do a smaller kitchen table with cabinets up front. Getting closer and closer everyday, hopefully Have it all done by December.

I gave all my seats to the brewery next door to our shop but I do know of another guy that just baught a bus and he's starting the conversion soon, I can ask him what his plans are for his seats.

Husband does a lot of work for Freehouse Brewery up in NChas, and they've sponsored a few of our trips and such. Charleston is becoming quite the brewery town!

And as for BBQ, Duke's is pretty good stuff, agreed! Although I admit to never really finding any "bad" bbq anywhere I've been in the Carolinas. And hey, Chili, you should be happy enough with that tasty brisket they have out in Texas!

Tbh 3/5 places their brisket is super dry and kinda sucks, ill take pulled pork over it anyday. Hometeam is good too.

As a native born Texian, I cannot bring myself to recognize Carolina pulled pork as "real" BBQ. That said, it is just about the tastiest damned pork on this planet! Love that stuff. Especially the real deal, pit variety with vinegar and cole slaw.

Having grown up in SC, i feel the same about TX brisket. I'm with you on wanting some pulled pork local, but it may be too risky as most folks here seem to have the same "not real bbq" mindset

I had high hopes for brisket in Texas... went to a place right before I headed out with my new bus and it was well.. I think I was chewing on more gristle and toughness than I was good meat... im not a fan of pulled pork.. though I love a good chicken BBQ...
