Lock security for the bus doors?

Got my front door lock installed today... Went a lot easier than planned. I'll post pics when it's light out. Really happy, only have a brass key lock exposed outside

But, it's this style ... Mounted latch mechanism (right) on bus side and catch (left) on door side... Didn't even have to cut rubber seal.

I'll get these pieces broken down, cleaned up, painted, and re-bolted.

I'd picked up several different styles at hardware store and talked myself out of them... Even one of the big Master puck lock. But I wanted a single set up I could use from both sides. And I was worried about the puck lock... If someone wanted to be an ass, they could padlock me inside!

Here is a shot of my front door. I have the same on the rear. They can break all the windows they want, they won't get anything big out through the windows like they would the doors.

On a side note....
I just brought a queen sized mattress and box springs through my front door, by myself. And I've got the big dog house!

Wouldn't say it was simple, but the mattress went in easier than the box springs

Outside. Can be locked from either or.

Do you have a photo of your rear door install?

The 2 locks are as follows
The one in the handle locks the handle closed. A master key is used in it.
The other lock is the dead bolt and the key sold with the lock is used.
Never use the handle lock as the security lock.

I need to figure out how to make that work on double outswing doors.. my bluebird has a lock built into the school door on it so that one is easy..

Or slipping a padlock on the outside while you're inside...
I'd rather have something I can operate from both sides

I drilled a small hole in the tongue of the existing latch for the rear and wheelchair doors and we simply insert a pin (actually a blunted nail) into the hole. Once you do that, no one can move the lever to open the door from the outside. You can't unlock them from the outside, but that is why you have the drivers side and righthand doors.

I thought this was the only way to go once I saw this. I will utilize the raised box that houses the handle mechanism from my drivers rear door. It is already drilled for the tumbler. My deadbolt should be here Mon. and I'll weld everything in place.

For the front, I installed a hasp. Padlocked at all times: for obvious reasons when I'm away, and to not get locked in by a prankster when sleeping. Plus, it makes it harder for me to lose the lock...

The back door has a patio slider lock I already had. Not much good for locking the door from without, but that hasn't been an issue. The thumb screw blocks the lever, and lodges tightly onto the guard. Easy peasy!

Now, back to work resolving cold fusion...

I assume this a factory set up? There is suppose to be a metal sleeve on the inside front half. You crank the outside handle and it ratchets the bar into the sleeve. Sleeve is missing here, I'll make a new one.
