Meet Free Bird!

Oh my gosh, so excited!!! We bought our bus home today! That bus smell, ahh, so good.

She's a 2000 Bluebird Mini Bird - 8 windows, about 28 feet long. Ran good on the 100+ mile trip home. She's got a few miles, about 266,000 but looks like its been well-taken care of and the fine folks a 422 Sales in PA checked it out for us. (We took it for a test drive as well.) It's got the 444E engine, not sure about the tranny or rear but it did 65 on the highway. Pluses are: tinted windows, rear A/C and heat. Minuses: some rust to deal with and it has a wheelchair lift in it.

Anyhoo, super happy to be an official skoolie now!

Motorcycle would be awesome but sadly not in the budget. As a matter of fact, we may also be keeping the bus smell;)

I'll put up some pics tomorrow; it's getting dark where I am.

I'm feeling very thankful this community is here as i gaze out at that big yellow school bus in my driveway!

Gosh i know the feeling; the first 3 weeks i was quite scared and a bit overwhelemed by the big change. I sensed the feelings would simmer away with time and they did but the comfort of knowing many other great minds also choose bus life was super comforting... brilliant minds indeed!

I love the mini birds!! I looked at a couple of them...

if you are looking for bus parts be sure to check out paul's bus lot in canton area.. I havent been yet (but will be making a trip very soon).. however have talked to him and he has tons of body parts for many different brands of busses...

I plan to drive my bus up there to look for some stuff.. maybe even this week now that I got it back together again..
