Moving the fuel tank to the drivers side 1991 tc 2000
This is a 91 handicap bus with the wheelchair lift and a rear emergency and drivers side emergency doors. The tank was on the passenger side and it was moved to the drivers side
The 60 gallon tank fit perfectly between the battery box and the rear spring shackle I did not replace the 500 lb tank guard. . Holes were drilled with 1/8 pilots with final 1/2 holes using a 110 volt 1/2 chuck 6.4 amp 110 volt drillmotor. Not a great task for a cordless. Also, had a cup of oil to dip the bits in. Lubrication makes all the difference. Replaced hose with the same pricey oem hose for the push lock fittings. $200
The silver check valve at the fuel / water seperator was leaking through was also leaking so I replaced it also. Fast $ 66 there. Moved the water/fuel separator forward a foot so as no to kink the supply line like it did when it was bolted right next to the crossmember.
Put 2 each 6 inch long pieces of 1/2" allthread in one of the bottom holes in the fuel tank to frame rail bracket on each side and it worked like a hinge to lower and raise it many times while fitting and notching the floor stiffener.
The 2 stainless pipe fittings were about $25 and the shiny door was $35.
Now the bay on the other side is huge with room for a relocated door and storage.
Fitted the turbo today and new flowmaster muffler.
Just short a couple clamps and a hangar.
Trans cooler is next then wiring and put the radiator in, fill it with fluids and spin it!
