Re: My 1996 Ford E350 Goshen Coach Conversion Project

The next step was to finally get rid of the bus doors...laters. I built a custom frame and added some aluminum sheeting on top wrapping around the edge, then screwed everything in and sealed it...and yes, I got around to pealing all the vinyl wrap off the bus- not fun.

Getting ready for paint last weekend...went ahead and used the same paint, really thinned it out and rented a sprayer.

Oh, and here's the inside of the door...not finished yet, going to add foam padding and more marine vinyl on the top...just in case.

Not much going on this weekend, other than picking up an awning, and waiting for some mounting hardware... then I'll get back to work. Oh and writing this whole thing. Still need to plumb and electrify the mini kitchen, add the 12v hood above the stove, and get the solar panel up...so much to do, so much time...yawn. Have a great weekend everyone.

Very carefully...lol! Well since I am not adding a toilet at all, and really don't plan to use the coach unless I have available full hookups, I was going to "plump" it straight through the floor, then out the side, going from 1 1/2 to 3" into a waste gate thingy w/ a cap. Then get a waste hose and tada...with an under sink vent. Also, I have a city fill & gravity fill plate I will install and supply the cold water from there, I may eventually add a fresh water tank, accumulator, and pump under the chaise part of the sofa, left the platform hollow just in case. If I decide to get creative I could hook up one of the propane tankless water heater showers and set it up in the back and run the piping through the wall...way down the line.
As for the lights, I bought some lens cleaning stuff for an older Tahoe I used to have, but I'm planning to order the black style headlights w/ led's...thanks for the link.

Re: My 1996 Ford E350 Goshen Coach Conversion Project

Okay, so let me post todays adventure, before I take my prework nap(gotta work my 1 of my 3, 12hr shifts a week, sometime). So today I started putting together my fold down accordion platform for the left/bunk bed(older kids spot). Had some plywood, previously cut to the dimensions I needed, just had to slap'em together with some piano hinges and viola! Now I just need to install the 2x3 that will go across the back above the window and use some door hinges, bolted through the wall and attached to the upright board. Then I need to find a crossbrace in the ceiling for a couple of attachment points to strap everything up when traveling and/or not in use. It will be covered in black carpet, marine vinyl, and some gray cloth(upright board). And, yes a twin airbed fits perfect. Almost forgot, it is resting on some bed frame rails I cut and mounted onto both sides of the coach, and it will be secured by some draw latches when down. Off to bed...

Re: My 1996 Ford E350 Goshen Coach Conversion Project

Nothing much to report today, ran some errands with my Moms...been doing some real world testing w/ the Coach, The Wifey's battery is acting up so she has my car till tomorrow(payday )
Realized I needed a latch on the trundle part of the sofa bed, so it doesn't slide out while driving.

I started rough plumbing the sink, need to get a 3" hole saw to run the bottom pipe through the floor to the waste gate.

Then, I happened to be in Pepboys getting a new bulb and rearview mirror adhesive, and found something else...like the new hub caps?

And now, I'm at work again tonight and tomorrow, so no new work till Friday or so...have a great rest of your Hump Day!!!!

Re: My 1996 Ford E350 Goshen Coach Conversion Project

So I've been a smidge busy, helping some of my friends out with some other projects, and finally been gathering some more supplies to tackle the plumbing and electrical...also got my decals from across the pond.

Decent distribution panel, I already have the charger/converter and a couple inverters, as well.

Need to get a second battery, and cut the platform to fit the bin, and vent the whole thing outside. Found a nice hutch/buffet that will fit the space nicely.

And here are the decals...going to add some Asian style dragons from the fender across the door on both sides, and the name across the nose. Still need to order those.

Re: My 1996 Ford E350 Goshen Coach Conversion Project

Just wanted to show where I will be placing the distribution panel...right in the old school hutch/ buffet I picked up on craigslist.org for $15

I'm starting to paint the hutch black to match the cabinets, and then notch the bottom for the battery bin to fit. I had already chopped of the legs.
