sdwarf- but that wood will never fall apart... you could always paint it... eh, but why? it has character.

Welp... not too much progress to report, but I did manage to quasi install the awning I bought... still need to rivet up the rest of the awning hanger strip, put in the industrial double sided tape, and bolt in the sides to secure everything. Other than all that, it worked pretty well... made a man cave area in the backyard during my kids birthday party...

I decided to start plugging in the power accessories, mostly rough fitting the cable input, aux power outlet, 30 amp power input... and rough fit water fill.

Welp...Holiday with the kids slowed me down, well that, and between work and slightly crumby weather(for South FL that is), I haven't done much...Started to run the water supply hose the other day(finally received the check valve I ordered), and realized I should have run it before I secured the couch down...hmmm. It will be tricky but I should get it done by next week. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years, and are not too frozen. update again soon.

Great bus! Can you shed a little more light on how you did the RV door conversion? I've been meaning to do that to my motobus since I bought it but have been lazy.
Also, where did you get that awning? I've been scouring craigslist for a long time and have come up with nothing. Those are two things my bus lacks that would really make it much nicer to use.

Sorry about the delay cloead...Let's see, I bought a door on ebay that was close to the correct size. Then, I built a wooden frame out of pressure treat lumber, skinned the top w/ aluminum sheeting(home depot). Screwed the door to the frame on the outside, as well though the inside of the frame sealed the gaps expanding foam and then silicone sealant. I left the existing bus door stops in to butt the door frame up against and added a foam sealing tape as well. As for the awning...pure luck, found one on craigslist that was old, cheap and about 150 mile away. then I had to order the mounting brackets, that in my case ended being just some c-rails...used silicone, self-tapping screws, rivets and industrial strength 3M double sided tape to button everything up...still need to clean it up. Good luck in your hunt.

Re: My 1996 Ford E350 Goshen Coach Conversion Project
Man it's been awhile...so I've taking care of other stuff around the house, and sssslowly working on the bus. Real slow...had a bunch of stuff mocked up. but nothing really locked in. Then last month I installed the Solar panel on the roof, intsalled the awning rail and sealed it up. Scratched the fold down bed concept, wasn't sold on the safety part. put the original front seat brackets ( non moving pedestals) back in, the height was better. Then I continued on the wiring. As this was happening my buddy who had used the bus touring last year started up a new band and went out on tour w/ a nice 15 passenger van...then they had a bad wreck(everyone is good, just banged up) their van didn't fair very well. So... to make a long story short. I get the call, we've been looking for a new van, but haven't gotten the insurance money back yet, can we borrow the bus for the next tour...ummmm...we'll pay for new tires, registration, etc. Eh..why not. Then I had to start in earnest to finish up the project. Well sort of...they didn't need the kitchenette(needed more sleeping area). Also, no lower cabinet, they dropped off the bench seat from the tour van( also, more sleeping space). I had made a custom cabinet for a microwave that looked pretty slick...now time for pictures.
As soon as I can attach more...I guess I need to ask the board for more space?

In the end, the most reliable way is to use a 3rd party photo-hosting service. You won't get those sorts of errors ever again. The two most popular photo-hosting sites are Photobucket and Flickr.

Nice... jazty, thanks for the info. I will play around with it when I get more pics from the road...or when I get it back next weekend...well for a couple of days, at least.

Re: My 1996 Ford E350 Goshen Coach Conversion Project
Welp, this is the end of my current thread...the transmission went on the old girl and it's not worth repairing w/ over 350K on the engine.
The good news is my buddy's found a replacement, which I may help to build out some more into a legitimate tour bus. Haus of Drgn will be used as a trade in.
So I will keep yah posted if I start a new thread. Thanks for letting me share my experiences and learn from yours.

I see you have the 1996 shuttle bus on Cinci craigslist. Good luck with the sale. Are you going to build the new bus now? I would love to get more tech..
