My freedom dream

Well I just acquired a 1993 Chevrolet p 30 bluebird mini bird
From South Carolina
Picked it up at Govdeals auction for 1600 bucks
Got lucky as I did it site unseen . drove down to pick it up from New York
And drove it back with no problems runs great
I'll be making it my home over the Summer so hopefully I'll keep you all up to date on my progress as I go along
Insurance was a trip Had to get. A commercial policy from progressive
Only one who would do it big expense3000$$$$ or 265 per month
They are doing the old bate and cancel on the cheap policies
I hope I did this right

Welcome and grats!
You did it mostly right but I can't read and you didn't post any pics so I don't know about your good deal and fun drive.

Welcome!
I bought mine sight unseen from just a description and a couple grainy pics. One fun adventure. It was a bit stressful for sure, but it ended well.
Can't beat the prices doing it this way!

Is GMAC insurance available in your state? I got liability coverage for a year for $300-ish. $265 a month sounds like extortion.

Maybe it depends on VIN? My 24' shuttle is covered by progressive for $400 a year. It is categorized as a ford E450 cut away.

LaBajaBus, I think it must have something to do with the state, I live in Tennessee and have a G30 chevy listed as a cut van. Progressive would only cover it as commercial for 65 dollars a month. Called Nationwide and my bill is about 16 dollars a month.

I'd call State Farm.

Our E350 bus was insured as a van for over a year ($28 a month).. just switched to RV and now its ($14 a month with better coverages).
