Re: My new tailgater

So I go out to start the bus for the 4th of July parade and I can't get it to start. First it seemed like a dead battery. They were at 75%, so I charged them up. Still not starting. No dash lights no nothing. put the key back to accessory and the lights come on and the radio comes on. turn back to start, the dash lights come on then nothing and everything go dark. Electric door won't work. I think maybe I have a bad ground somewhere. Will take a longer look at it this weekend. Any hints are welcome.

Re: My new tailgater

Put a new starter in last weekend. I thought it may be a solenoid, so I took it apart and went to the parts store. Solenoid by itself was $219, but a rebuilt starter with a solenoid was only $208. No brainer right?

Re: My new tailgater

Besides some water leaks everything is good with the bus. Two times I have not been able to get it started in 3 years, it has been in front of my house. Gotta love that! I would recommend the grill to anyone. It works great and it's a snap to pack up.

Re: My new tailgater

Awning is installed. I had an issue with the end caps not facing the right way during the install so I went back to Media RV on w Baltimore Pike in Media PA. When I called I asked how much it would be for them to finish the install. He asked if I already had the channel attached to the bus, I told him yes, he said 100 to 150. The manufacturer’s instructions said the install time was two(2) hours. I figured 1.5 hours at 85 per hour was right in between 100 and 150. When I showed up to pick the bus up after two phone calls to see if it was done I was given a bill of 360.48. When I questioned the amount he got nasty about it. Over 4 hours to drill 8 holes and attach the brackets is an awfully long time. I would not recommend this place to anyone, I think they are dishonest and hacks to boot.

Re: My new tailgater

when paying for work, it is a good idea to get in writing what the total cost will be, as well as exactly what work will be done, a guarentee of the work, etc... fwiw

Re: My new tailgater

You might want to take this up with whatever body governs vehicle repair in your state. Many states require a written estimate and notification of the customer if more work is required and why---before the work is done. I just hate seeing people get ripped off by looser/crooked repair shops!

Yeah hind sight is 20/20. And now that I have goggled 'Media camping center complaints' and get pages of dissatisfied customer complaints I won’t touch this place with a ten foot pole.

Re: My new tailgater

What happened to you should be a lesson to everyone to get a written estimate anytime you take a vehicle to a shop for work. Sorry that happened to you.
