That's the chassis that I would pick if I could do it over again, only not a shuttle bus. 550 with a Duramax is ideal for us.

- I wouldn't be interested in this bus either, except for two features - #1 is a 14 - 16" 'sunken' floor in what would be the main kitchen/living area, so no roof raise necessary, and #2 is the rear wheels are so close to the back of the bus that the suspension will support an add-on garage

Hi,
I just bought a bus just like yours and we live just south of Tulsa in Mounds. Maybe you can help us understand a few things? Are you close to Tulsa?

Very cool! We are actually full time in our skoolie, but we are from Leonard and Inola areas originally. We would love to help out with anything we can.

Do you have more information on your passenger seat? Link to the swivel setup?

The seats are out of an 80s conversion van. Unbolted from the floor, bolted in the bus with grade 8 bolts and voila!

I watched the interior tour video and it looks like the passenger seat takes up only a little bit of the "walkway" up the stairs. Do you ever get tired of having to squeeze past the seat the the cabinet to the left of the doorway? And there is enough flat floor there to bolt the full automotive seat against the ground? Or did you have to weld in a larger platform for the seat?

I have a 2000 Chevy 4 window shortie too - BRIGHT green. The body type is slightly different, but it's the same bus. I left those big mirrors on though, makes it so much afer for me since I'm constantly driving in busy downtown areas. Looks like it's in good shape too! It is the Cool Bus.
