I did the same. But I am painting one side at a time. So I will finish up the drivers side (painting the rest of the rub rails now) and I will simply roll the body paint (Turquoise) first, THEN I will tape off the rub rails and paint them. It will go much faster that way. Live and learn. I was hoping to get the drivers side done this week but caught the "back to school" cold that is going around. Oh well.

Re: Putter's Bus

the can says deep blue, but it isnt. Seems to have a teal look to it. The old battery box is mounted now to become the generator fuel box. I will try to post pics later..

Re: Putter's Bus

got the back painted, putting on light covers up top, and the cover seems like its hitting the bulb. Of course, the weather was turning bad, lightning and all, so I had to get down, now it will bother me till I can get back up there and check it out...aaarrrgggg

I have that problem too with SOME of the clearance lights. Seems I have two different light bulbs in them. One is the large bulb like on brake/turn lights (1156/1157). The other is a low profile bulb (67). The large bulb hits the covers and I have to tilt the hbase to where it is almost touching the metal.

1156

Re: Putter's Bus

I was talking about the upper warning lights, but I found the problem, there was a screw left in, no wonder a new screw wouldnt go in.....so in between the showers, I went outside and fixed the last 2....I would have not slept all nite. I cant do that again, no sleep last nite as my only child,Nicholas arrived at Marine Corp bootcamp last nite. I know he is tired tonite also...

Re: Putter's Bus

this is rustoleum hammered deep blue, it actually looks like deep blue when you look down the side, instead of looking head on...

Re: Putter's Bus

I will have about $250 in the paint job, plus the $110 for the top. thats not bad considering what they want to paint it.
