I've always like the shorter 35' coaches. But they are oddballs, not very popular here in the US. MCI rebadged a Dina Olympico as an MCI F3500 for example.

MCI didn't sell many F3500s, but Temsa is doing well with its 35-footer. Maybe keep an eye out for a F3500 - Dina makes good buses. With their large underfloor storage bays they could make a really nice conversion.

I just bought one. Someone on this forum posted a “ hey check these out in the Charlottesville VA craigslist. “. So I did. They had 2. A Mercedes and a cat motor. The Mercedes sold bf I had to make a decision.
I was looking for a short re with AC, high roof, good trans and an 8.3. In that order. The 8.3 was prob not going to happen.
Special thanks the the Cadillackid for saying that the CAT motor is a “good” motor. I can tell you know what you are talking about from your other posts. Ppl seem to get paralyzed looking for perfection. To
I was getting ready to write up my bus introduction this week and tell y’all what my plans are and all but this question came up so here goes. Ain’t she cool!

Btw. I bought from M&M salvage in Ruckersville VA. Nice ppl. I prob didn’t get a steal of a deal but I’m happy. They threw in some extras including 30’ of rub rail. I plan to weld the ADA door shut and fill in the missing rail so it looks like the door was never there. They drove it to a truck shop a couple of miles away where it is now getting oil and filters for both motor and trans and a air sys / brake check. I will go back in few weeks after I get insurance and my Vermont plate, and drive her home to New Orleans. ( that’s why AC was high on my list). If you don’t need AC they have a couple more. I think a Thomas and an international w 444e shorty re wo AC

You lucked out on the rub rail. Someone went through the major ordeal of removing it from a bus? I need one as I am also contemplating deleting the side door and want to replace with the rub rail, but they are 30' long, not easy to remove and expensive to even think about shipping one.

The guy said he got the rails off with a chisel and hammer. The rails are slightly bent at each hole. It will take me about 10 mins with a hammer and block of wood they’ll be perfect.

There's always the short RTS.
It is a transit bus, but only 30'
Not too common, but there are enough of them out there.
Finding a short one with highway gearing could be difficult.

Welcome ... looks good and sounds good the bus you bought.
Have fun with it, nice for a project. Glad I am not cleaning your windshield of bugs. Rainex it and might save some scrubbing down the road.
I'm a Cat fan but know that no two engines are quite the same. Hopefully yours was well serviced, so possibly a great buy.
