Mine were exactlly like that. Just remove the the steel lines + go with rubber hose all the whole way from the engine to the shut off valve.

I'd already have rubber hose on that if I was you. Alternatively, a glutton for punishment could always cut the rusted area out, properly flare it, and splice in a piece using unions. So...rubber hose?

Suggestion: Wrap some aluminum foil around the bundle of hoses behind the head (near the exhaust.)
