Thanks, Roger!

Oh, and it turns out They already had swapped the 19.5's for 22.5's on the front. Their pictures were outdated. I think they took them at least a year ago. Cleveland ISD in Tx are SKETCHY AF, people! Some of what I'm finding makes me thing they were either totally incompetent or that someone there sabotaged various things on the bus.

On another note- This bus doesn't have the split radiator design that Chris and I hate so much. Its got a full radiator with an intercooler in front of it. runs nice and cool.

nicde looking bus... and as far as stuff not workimg.. have PATIENCE with the electrical! the nbus just made 1000 mile ride so its mechanically sound.. and NICE that you dont have to change the tires to 22.5's! havinfg nothing at all electrical work sounds like the main solenoid for the accessories may not be engaging.. that one solenoid can make tons of stuff not work...

If i wasnt dealing with this DUmbass roomate eviction id be able to come down sooner to give you a hand in getting this stuff figured out.. but of course he thus far.. supposedly is out of jail but neither him nor his other froends are compelled to make things happen. my guess is to spite me so I have to keep his smelly dog-peed-pooped room a sanctuary until the court says i can set it out... grrr..

anyway this looks like a really solid bus!!

Sucks to have to deal with that roommate, man!
I'll be patient, and hopefully its something simple. You know me, I buy the bus for its bones. The engine in this thing is a beast. I need to find out what exact version I have. Any easy way to tell a standard model from the high torque? Far as I can tell this is as much engine as the 2000 series can handle.

navistar can tell you the TQ value of it.. allison rates their transmissions conservatively for longevity.. my experience with slapping an AT545 with a chevy 454 and never blowing it up says they are rated conservative.. (back when I was naive and sort of lost interest after i built that bus.. I drove it hard a few times and it always took it.. I still miss that gasser shortie.. )..

did you verify if you are going into 5th gear at all? I suspect it might if you let off the throttle when you reach 50.

It goes into 5th just fine, Shaun simply couldn't tell.
Trying to look under the tape while at top speed it seems like it goes to 55 then bumps back a couple mph. Seems more like 1800 at 50 than 2000 from what I could see on the gauge. I'm gonna wait till you're over to even pull the tape off, that tape is structural!

the sequence usually of an allison feels like more shifts than there are..

1-2-(lock)-3-4-5. that Lock engagement often feels like a shift and confuses people.

the tape is wierd buit with the layout of that dash its conceiveable someone dropped a tool or book bag or something right on that dash and it would smash the sun-baked plastic. that or someone used brute insteads of finesse trying to take the dash apart..

vehicle dashboaerds require patience and finesse to decipher the puzzle that holds them together.. vs big tools.. bus / truck mechanics tend to fasvor big tools..

Yeah, I think someone ripped out the gauges in a hurry and destroyed the dash. Its totally shot.
I'll either have to find a replacement or go the custom route.

I'm pretty confident its going into 5th after driving it.
I'll be heading back out to the bus in a little while with my multimeter.
I'll check the batteries first, but I'm pretty confident they're not the culprit here.
