For that kind of repair bill, you could get another bus either as a donor vehicle or replacement.

Yeah, but I don't have that kind of money anyways.
Pretty much stuck right now, and plan to fix it right, whatever that takes.
I'm a dashboard and a coolant leak away from bus perfection.
Well that and my air compressor is starting to go. LOTS of oil coming out of the air tank when I drain it. All three chambers.

I'm honestly pretty bummed and I've not been having much luck since my brother's death. I keep waiting for that day when it will all settle down but the bad news just keeps pouring in.
I don't mind spending twenty grand on my bus, but I don't have that money today so I've gotta just swallow this lump for a while and move on I guess.
One way or another I'm going to have a reliable, rust free bus that can cruise at 70-80 all day and pass traffic uphill.
But getting to that point is apparently going to all be uphill.

I'm honestly thinking about listing the house and buying some land and getting the bus finished.
If I've gotta spend so many thousands of dollars, maybe I should hunt down a 530 and 3060 for this bus.

In the meantime, I'm down to roaches. THAT is a bummer!

If I'm selling the house, I may as well get one of these for the bus-

Cancel my bus' "unicorn" rating as its just an expensive can of worms.

You made me laugh, Robin. Thank you so much for helping me know what to look for.

Where's the bus, Debbie? You should start a build thread!
ECCB, you made be giggle a bit. Do I start a new thread on this site, or do you mean a Facebook page?

Man, I really appreciate the help with getting the stuff working on my bus.
You guys are cool, and I'm sorry I'm so bummed out today.
Shaun's dads asinine suggestions and refusal to shut up about the bus when I was clearly about to boil over were just too much. I had to come home and roll another one.

I wish we had the tools and such to just tear into the front of the engine, but I'm not real comfortable having a non-running bus in shauns yard. He'll not leave me alone until its gone if its not running, so leaving it be until I can calm down and figure this out is probably my best bet. The part about fixing it myself that has me worried is that rear cover. I'd hate to tear it down to there only to have to put it all back just to limp it to someone's facility who CAN do that rear timing cover.
I need to find out more about this updated front and inner cover situation more.

I was hoping to take this bus on our honeymoon, but that hope is rapidly fading. The subaru won't do as its eating its own transmission to death at 61k miles.
Looks like an air mattress in the van for us! lol

I've been having a kinda rough time for the last few months and this latest setback has been a bit hard to swallow, but I promise I'll calm down sooner or later.
