So we had a huge front move through Joplin last night. 60mph winds and heavy rain right when I'm trying to sleep. This morning it's freezing and raining and I'm rethinking life choices! Wearing three layers at Waffle House!

I wish we could get some real rain. Lost two more lawn accounts today. Grass just aint growing and the senile old folks at the park think we have some sort of control over that.
They're literally so crazy that they were blaming us for the record drought this year. It must suck to be retired! lol
Oh well- still have 150+ yard to mow.... when it finally does grow again.

Our favorite trip consists of wild camping and then breakfast at waffle house.
We even bought a couple of those mugs.
Always take a sweater along in waffle house .they have some wicked AC s blowing.

For real, waffle House doesn't mess around when it comes to keeping it cold inside.

I never understood that about restaurants. I hate waiting on the check while I'm freezing, and I hate when my food is cold thirty seconds after I get it.

Yeah I'm with you on that. We always kept jackets in the car in case we ended up at Waffle House.
Today we are still in Joplin, froze our tails off last night, ran the little buddy heater almost the entire night. Sun is out today so u can air the bus out but dang that was approaching our temperature limit with our current setup!
We just had a killer breakfast at this little place in Joplin, everything super fresh and home made salsa, if you find yourself in this part of town hit this place up! It's called the bruncheonette.

Probably a 'faster turnover = increased sales' kind of mentality.

The cold air makes people leave the restaurant rather than sitting and relaxing for a while. Yes, turnover.

ytou think its bad in florida or the south that way.. the average temperature for a restaraunt in ohio winter and summer is often below 70.. I truly believe it is to keep the employees happy and not the patrons...
one of my fav coffee shops in town adopted a "comfortable for patrons" policy.. warm-up and drink your coffee in winter.. and that shop is often near impossible to get in.. and people do turn over their tables.. or buy more drinks and food if they stay longer..

Update: Just got NES emulation setup on my raspberry pi bus computer with a cheap bluetooth gamepad. I'm not as good at super mario as I remember being... Maybe I'll grab a second controller since this one seems to work well, then we can play classic games until the sun comes up.

I llove be vintage arcade games!! I'm a avid user of Mame, been playing it for years. I should try it on a PI, what a great idea! To use a PI as a game box , I use them for all kinds of techie geekie uses like hvac controllers but not a game machine. A pi3 probably is pretty fast

Pi 3 is really fast.. But honestly pretty flawed for this purpose.
They added wifi and bluetooth, and it can't reliably run them both at the same time: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/1552
The wifi is really poor on its own, and will regularly crash. https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/1342
If you use it as a wifi extender (client + hostap) the driver loses the plot, and requires a reboot to come back to life.
I've "downgraded" to a Pi 2 with usb dongles for wifi-wan, wifi-wlan, and bluetooth. The performance difference doesn't matter for this application, and the PI 2 draws less power (and creates less heat) as a bonus.

I turned off BT and for WAN I ran the drivers to run my Hotspot as a USB modem, then use the Ethernet as LAN.
then I decided the PI wasnt made to be a good router so I use my MikroTik RB951G, plug my Hotspot into the USB port and BAM I have WAN, WiFi, and wired. then I can use a PI as an appliance and not a router and game machine both.. I thuink I used WiFi on it once.. but usually wired to the MT and the HDMI to the monitor..
https://www.amazon.com/Mikrotik-RB95.../dp/B00EQWUZM6
im working with it now using custom software, a relay board, and QT GUI so I can get rid of the ugly blue-bird switch panel and have a "Glass" switchboard.
I started with the ELM325 chip and bread-boarded up a test to talk the J1708 / J1587 rather than the commercial solution im using now..
