Re: "The Bondo Condo" - 15-passenger E350 Shorty
Hello. Thanks for this thread. We just brought our transit shorty home this week, and its been kind of a challenge finding info on these things. My wife is a dispatcher at a small bus company here in North Idaho, and we got a sweet deal on a 12 passenger plus 2 wheelchair e 350. 700 bucks! it looks almost exactly like yours at the start. I had the seats out before the motor was cooled off. Im headed to my work momentarily to use the shop n take the lift out, wish I knew someone that wanted it. its been well taken care of, reg oil changes etc. NEW tranny, new rear end. You have given me alot of ideas, not the least of which is the paint job. that looks f-in cool man! Are those actual chrome rims, or caps? I really like the flat/semi flat? black paint. I am dead set on that, as a base at least. Has it been really hot during the day? The futon is a good idea. We want to build a platform for a queen bed, up about normal bed height so most of the underside can be extra storage. The propane storage i brilliant. How nervous were you cutting that hole?lol. Thinking about tinting all the rear windows limo black as well.
Any way, thanks again for posting all of this. its a valuable reference tool for us. The black paint and chrome really sets it off. Makes it look not so, well, bussy. Jeff
