Hey, everyone!
This is my train of thought for the floor: after I spray more ospho and rustoleum on the inside and about 2" around, I was going to apply something similar to epoxy to coat the whole floor, plug the holes from the seats, level and give more thickness to the sheet metal as it is a bit thin in some spots from rust. Looks like a material like the epoxy for garage coating is too thin, and it would run through the holes. But then I thought "what if I stick some type of a mesh on the floor first, then apply the epoxy?"

The idea here is to keep the overall thickness of the floor to a minimum, as I want to add soundproofing layer and self-sticky tiles for finish.

So final floor inside would be: metal, rust treatment coating, epoxy or this > http://m.homedepot.com/p/BEHR-Premiu...801/204166284/ layered enough to plug holes from seats and other screws, then sound and vibration reducer > http://m.homedepot.com/p/4-ft-x-8-ft...6BX/100663624/ , then regular sticky tiles.

What do you all think? Be gentle....[emoji12]

Disclaimer: i posted h-d links only because it's 5 minutes away from the house, not intended as publicity or soliciting in any way. I've also gone to Lowes and ace hw many times [emoji6]

I've found the mesh I'll be using to cover the holes and pour the coat! We're in business! Some testing before 100% deployment ;)

Bought so far for skoolie:
1. Marker lights
2.Replacement headlights
3. Water pump (yes!!!)

Next are new side mirrors (think I found some good ones), and a storage unit to replace the battery compartment as it is all rusted up.
This will be slightly longer to fit right between the underbelly supports. I can't wait to start cutting!

I'm going to use roof tin caps to patch the holes in my floor. A little dab of epoxy or some sort of adhesive sealer and one of these should patch the hole with out adding any significant thickness...

Those would work. Just some silicone would work. Nice and simple and fast. Shoot a big glob in the hole and press the tin cap on top. On my bus, I laid down some of that blue foam insulation. I think I did 3/4" thick if I remember right but my ceiling was pretty tall. I then screwed some 7/16" thick OSB sheeting on top of that through the foam and into the metal with self tapping screws. Worked great.

Dello, everyone! Long time, no post!
Proud to report that this long weekend was most productive in the skoolie arena, and I'm taking today to spend some time with the little one, who is now napping on daddy

First, I have finally plugged the holes on the floor; it's still a little sticky, but it had a full week to dry before I put the other layers on.

Started with the self sticking mesh, then sprayed on some rustoleum, even though I had already sprayed ospho....didn't notice any funcky reaction, so unless the metal melts in the next few days, we should be ok!

Once I finished with the floor, and since I've had the new market lights unused for quite some time now, I started working on the "forehead". To note, the original plan was to continue prepping the outside for primer, but....it has been raining all weekend, I should say thunderstorming, really...and since I don't need 1.2GW to travel in time, I figured I'll do that another day.

Scrapping metal from the bus, I made this:Click image for larger version

That's a 32" x 2" plate (its in 2 pieces because the sheet I had wasn't long enough) that will support the 3 marker lights on the "forehead". The old ones were crappy, and off center, were driving me nuts. New surface, some bondo, sanding, priming. I have faith!

The miss and I got very excited Saturday, as we were able to visualize couch, fridge (bought a mini one from a friend!!!) bathroom area, bed....
I was thinking about a stand alone/floor a/c to avoid cutting the walls, but the small unit we measured yesterday would fit great in one of the smaller back windows!

Next, I'm getting tired or getting black dirty with every surface I touch inside: power wash the inside!!!

13'x7.5' to behind the driver's seat. Height is just about 6'. I'm 6' and can stand in the center, and when I shave my head I don't feel the top. No jumping in there for me!
