Then the liability should be reflected in the price rather than denying insurance to bus owners. It doesn't make sense, but you'll notice they will sell you a commercial policy at certain insurance firms. I will only take a commercial policy as a last resort to keep this bus legal. That doesn't make sense to try to commercialize a privately owned vehicle.

lol no worries, and yes i completely agree....what gets me is an ins company would insure a 'rice cooker racer' home brew pumping 1K HPs out of a 4-banger, but not a skoolie...

What was mentioned to me by an insurance rep was the thought that we might be using buses in a commercial way, either to haul people or for moving freight. All of us? With hundreds of buses being sold across the country every month, I to wonder where they are all going. With that same train of thought Chevy vans and pickups could also be required to buy a commercial policy even as a privately owned vehicle.

You've got to admit, if you're living in a bus that makes housing pretty cheap. Some like myself don't change the title to motor home. I think the insurance companies are just trying to squeeze more money from us. If it's hard to get insurance we won't complain at any price when we do get it.

Using this info:
http://www.skoolie.net/forums/f18/ty...html#post47428 (Thanks a million, @PDBerske!!!!)

I'm going to the Broward tag&title closest to the house this saturday (i called, thery're open on sat) with affidavit, current title, registration, my DL, and bus/RV insurance card in hand...not to forget $$$...and i'm hoping in a few hours (or by next mon-tue!) i'll have the beast legal 100%!

As always, keeping fingers and toes crossed...

As long as you have money, the affidavit, and insurance you'll be A-OK.

Roger that! I think a kidney sold on the black market should suffice for funds...
