AH! So close, can't believe i'm excited to go to a title&tax office!
On a different note....Me thinks this will be the perfect opportunity to finish that mobile arcade station i wanted to build...you know, for the kids...

So far, so good....the only document I'm missing is the actual receipt for the bus itself. The lady said that shouldn't matter, everything is under my name...title on hand ;)
I'll still have to wait until Monday, when state offices actually pick up the phone -_-
Knocking on wood, should be OK!
Note: as the clerk checked the VIN, it actually comes up as a "truck", not a bus. The title most likely says " BU" because the guy I bought it from submitted for it that way.

my biggest thing is how each state handles it differently.. and if driving my bus in one state am I requied to meet that states rules? or my state's rules?

for instance in ohio if your bus has less than 15 Passenger SEATS its non CDL.. yet in michigan they expressely state that removing seats does not reduce capacity and its DESIGN capacity they go on.. so if im reigatered in ohio and Driving in michigan and get stopped .. am I busted because I have SEATS for 15 in a Bus DESIGNED for 30?

I've thought about the exact same thing....that is why I am reluctant in taking the bus outside FL. At least until I have more concrete info.

By logic, after a bus is converted, it does not have seating for 15, 30, etc....any longer...hell, my bus will barely (and safely) seat 4! Driver included!

Most RVs have seats for what...8...10...? Are they counting the shitter, too?!?

But we all know law enforcement and logic don't always go hand in hand...lol

my bus will likely always have seats for 10 or 12 as i plan to use it for outtings with friends where we all want to ride together .. but some states i think even require some type of RV license if you have air brakes.. and some states are tougher than others..

Ohio spouts off all kinds of laws about conversion requirements and paint colors etc.. yet there are plenty of empty or "seated" Yellow busses running around tagged as RV's ... I see them all the time.. esp in smaller town areas or on the freeways between small towns.. many people that live in the country use skoolies to drive around... and even go to farmer's markets.. more often than not I see them tagged as RV's and not as farm trucks... and I know they dont meet the technical RV requirements of the state

The state the vehicle is registered in is what matters.
