One thing that ruins my day is going to the tax collectors office. I think they hate me!

I disagree with you on this one. I think letting it sit till it needs a jump is the wrong way to go. Sitting is not good for any engine.
Go ask the heavy diesel mechanic that question.

I pull my batteries from anything that won't get used for a few month's in winter, or I charge them with my 120 volt charger.

I got sick of replacing batteries every winter in everything I owned. The smaller the battery, the faster winter kills them.

"cold" starting where I and the OP are means around 60 degrees Fahrenheit just so you know.

Ouch. Rubbing it in? I think our friends to the north are fighting multi-feet of snow. Its no wunder record numbers are moving to FL from the New York area. Can't blame them. Its why my wife agreed this is the time to build the bus, sell the house while homes are selling in 2-3 days and plan to see far away places when things warm up.

Most "refugees" in my area have the Michigan or Ohio tags.
If my house goes up in value in the next year I may just forego renting out and simply sell it.
I could buy some property, and some buses!

Yeah, we once considered property farther south, Sebring, Ft. Pierce, etc. but there ain't no place to run anymore where the northerners and islanders can't find you. I need a sign "shotgun in one hand and banjo in the other - strangers welcome".

Most everybody I know moved to Tennessee or northeast Georgia. Now they are getting hit by the overgrowth too.

ft pierce is a real dump. I have family and friends there.
I lived in Vero Beach for a year. Hated it.

Quick update!
We took the (unfinished) skoolie to the park! We had a blast, passed by the in laws so we could load up everybody mountain bikes. Because, you know...we have a bus ;)
Put one bench back in, so the child seat can be buckled in properly:

The family about to drive off:

Parked at the park:

First of many adventures!

We did, and yes it was memorable! Ride was a bit on the rough side, but my heavy foot just could not slow down the beast!

Quick note:
Last week or so, I posted about fixing the turn signals. Didn't mean to sound like I had no help, so I'm editing here.

Thanks to my brother, I was able to fix the issue with the lever assembly.

He actually wanted me to be specific (rough translation from Italian to follow): "please explain that your brother, the homeless starving hobo from Italy used to fix everything with parts found in the dumpster, told you how to fix the problem at first shot?"

So there you have it, thank you big brother !!!

Yes, having help is always great.
Dude, I thought I was looking at one of my pictures when I saw you in the drivers seat above...
You and I have similar features, at least it would seem. Although my shorts are much shorter!

Nice bus, looks like you are having fun with the conversion! I live in Miami and my wife and I are looking into purchasing a larger bus to convert. I was wondering what dealer you purchased it from?
Thanks
