upping weight limit on bus

got a 88 mini blue bird school bus bread truck ish front end. 6.2 chevy dfiesel i was comparing it to my 71 gerstanslager bookmodile p-30 chassis to dodge d40? chassis and supposedly the weight limit of the antique bookmobile is about 3000 lbs more payloadc pacity then the modern breadtruck sized bus, to be expectyed, different chassises. anty way i can up the payload capacity of the blue bird short bus. does it nned to be new axles and all or just a spring pack issue or something else etc etc.
thanks

This cannot be done safely, short of re-engineering the bus. If you need a higher weight capacity, you need to bite the bullet and get a different vehicle.

the 5th item down that says bobber kit could be used if you or someone you know is an experienced mechanic. those leaf springs will support close to 3 ton if you have a solid rear axel

the 5th item down that says bobber kit could be used and they can support well over 5 tons each. so if you like the bus you have or only have 800 bucks for upgrade these are much better than a whole new bus.

the 5th item down that says bobber kit can be used to replace the rear leaf springs on your bus. they can support 5 or 6 ton safely and only cost 800 dollars
