Window screens that WORK

I have been living in my short bus full time for the last 7 months & have been very pleased with the way I installed the screens. Here in Texas with all the bugs, it is critical to have some sort of insect control.

Awesome. Really like it and thanks for sharing. I'm going to try something like it. I was originally thinking of sewing magnets and using those, but I think yours looks very professional and is a better option.

Very clever, the foam gasket on the edges of the wood pinch the screen against the window frame. I'll have to look at mine to see how similar the windows are.

The foam gasket adhesive didn't sick, did you paint/clear the back side of the wood or just leave it?

Assuming... the screen is a kit you can cut to size, a got it from a local hardware store of sorts?

Great idea, i love it.
I looked into screen kits at the local big box hardware store and they run about $9-13 depending on size and color. For our windows, about $10 each for a kit to do one window.
I have been pondering this for a while and have seen several ideas, your is by far the best I have seen. Your windows also look just like what is in my full size Bluebird.

Is there any benefit to having screens on the inside? How about being able to slide them vertically?

This is a great screening solution! It won't work for my double-pane skoolie windows, unfortunately. They panes stick out too far.

Great work on your conversion. Not bad for a girl. Don't freak out, it's a joke. It took me a while to convince my daughter that she could do wood working as good as any man. She finally agreed. I noticed on looking at your other videos that you used EMT conduit for your shower curtain rod. Either find you an electrician or go buy you a 1/2" EMT bender and make it one continuous piece. You don't need the couplings to get in your way. I could have done it for you if I knew you were going to be at the Lone Star Rally. Oh well, GREAT JOB !!!!!!!

I'm poking around looking for screen window ideas and I keep reading about the use of magnets. Question - aren't the frames and tracks and most everything else to do with the windows aluminum? To what surface are you sticking the magnets?

Good job. I did the same thing with the wood in between the windows with the left over flooring but I went to Home Depot and found these adjustable size screens that you pull apart to fit your window. It happened to just the right size for the bus. But I do think they were $5-7 each but it was easy so I did it. But I been thinking of making my own.
