Howdy All

We are currently building the unit needed to power internal combustion engines on wood.
You can watch our progress in researching and building the wood gasifier at

The most complete instructions on the site relate to the downdraft gasifier
outlined in FEMA documents , but the one we are actually building is a
cross-draft version.

I've re-done the FEMA drawing , correcting some of it's errors and
at the same time I've rendered companion drawings to have coverage
for updraft , downdraft and side draft versions.

As things move forward , I'll be giving details on how and why it works ,
so that one can more readily adapt the information to whatever materials
you have laying about.

There is really only one item for which the measurements are somewhat critical
( The burn tube ) and I have charts detailing the dimensions required for various
horsepower/displacement requirements.

If your reasonably handy (which most bus people tend to be ) then this
project should be a reasonable undertaking.
