I can tell you what the rest of the world has acknowledged, yes, with a 30 second Google search.

Explaining Lithium-ion Chemistries – Battery University
"The key benefits are enhanced safety, good thermal stability, tolerant to abuse, high current rating and long cycle life."

http://www-scf.usc.edu/~rzhao/LFP_study.pdf
"Posphates are not prone to thermal runway and will not burn even though abuse occurs. Therefore lithium ion batteries made by phosphate as cathode are very safer as compared to other lithium ion batteries"

I could go on, but I won't. This is referred to as "spoon feeding".

jszsy,

don't be so naïve to believe everything you hear from internet. Nothing of any values will never come free, it will always costs you something. In order to understand, you need solid understanding of fundamental science, only then, you can decipher writing is with any usability. I've thousands of documents, fraught with non-sense, and it's becoming so accepted by general public, first because, our public was deprived of power of rationing. This is commonly known as mass phycology, it works best when audience are without fundamental knowledge to tell validity of the story told.

Anyway, I'm done with this forum, I've asked politely to sysop to close my account, and this site will be permanently blocked from my computer.

I've been following Zaphod's "build" since he so callously abandoned us and after all the hullabaloo about his electrical system his current plan is to run his stuff off a heavy duty bank of AA batteries and charge it with a big 30w solar panel. At least he won't kill anyone with it. He changes his mind every couple of days but of course whatever he chooses is the "right" way and everyone else is a moron.

Haha. That's awesome Roach. I'm slightly ashamed to say that I've been doing the same thing on occasion. I mean zephod no ill will, but I have been curious about his build. I, too, have been relieved since he decided to simplify and reduce his electrical system. And otherwise it's just so dang entertaining!

I've been doing a LOT of reading and research and have decided that the LiPO4 batteries are the way I'm going to go for just about every reason I can think of except the cost. I'm even considering bringing them inside to be more temperature stable than previous plans to put them in a mildly climate controlled box under the bus. My plan is to get 4 of the 1k batteries. I don't plan on ever needing to make another house battery purchase for this bus for the rest of my life unless I become completely careless. (Yes, I said THIS bus, which means I'm already allowing the option for another bus in the future, eventhough I'm probably 10% done with my first one. I'm doomed.)
