I too dream about a woodgas skoolie. Needing something to occupy my mind upon a breakup with my girlfriend, I decided to bbuild a gasifier from junk laying around my land.took about a month to weld up.i had it mounted in and running a little Toyota pickup for a.short time before fire season kicked in.it was super rough and made from my own design(influenced by YouTube and the net) but it worked! It worked well enough to push that little yota to about 45mph.thats with no engine mods at all.i had a little gate valve attached to the air intake that would serve as my air mix controller.it had a piece of conduit attached to it so I could adjust it as I was driving.in the only test I ran on it, it got about 4gallons of wood chips per mile.stull have the gasifier.been thinking about hooking it up to something again.!)
You could run a bus on woodgas.big engine-short bus.it probly won't go fast,maybe not up hills.you would have to stop a lot to find fuel. I feel it could be done though.

Ooh, also ran it out of chips once on the side of the road.we just started throwing anything we could find in there.it was still hot enough.got me almost home!
