Great thread, really like a lot of your ideas on cooling/heating.

I noticed you were preparing to cut some holes in your lower bedroom bay doors, but had some concerns over losing your surprise. One thing that I have considered doing to reduce prying eyes and to maintain my streamlined look is perforated white vinyl film. From a few feet away, it appears to be solid. But from the interior, you can see out pretty well.

Looking forward to more of your build, and considering your generator for our project. Really find the Electromagnet draw holders to be hilarious, so over the top powerful. But ... since ours is for a film crew... not insane to implement.

That's a really great idea on the perf!! I think I will totally do that to minimize the fact there are windows in the bay. This would help keep my camo look. Ran into a slight roadblock with the Vegas heat. I had changed the 5 rooftop condenser fans to small 80watt ones. With the intense Vegas heat, they did not pull enough air to cool the heavy load from the two compressors. My head pressure in peak day heat was too high!!!! Argh... Solution - I had to source the correct high CFM bus fans and replace all 5. Just had the new power supplies and relays come in so I can get them wired up. I already have the fans mounted in the roof shroud. So this weekend I'll be doing more electrical but should have the cool back - yay!

What?? That's awesome - what made you change your mind to look at a coach? In what way are you converting a bus for film company? Is it for green room or production gear transport / workshop?

We always were into the coach, the School Bus was just something we picked up. We had been looking at MCI's for about a month, but the smooth lines, engine and construction of the VanHool is just so much more in what we planned. And why get an MCI to then make it look like a VanHool.

We really wanted the full buss due to the basement storage, long highway life and stability. Our intention is a mobile production office and base camp foundation. For medium sized commercial, corporate and series service. It's kitchen will be nearly missing, bit hidden (thank you for some swell ideas on that). Mostly small sitting areas with tables to work at, network security, then entertainment and screening equipment.

It rides well, nice new air bags.

We lost the fan belt last night and had some heat, bit fixed that. We got up this morning and found a leak in an air brake line, fixed that! But then blew a valve next in line. So waiting on a mechanic opening for that. Still happy about the purchase and eager to begin conversion.

Ours is the Cummins M11 with Allison automatic.
