I got my new bus! Was looking skoolie, but the $ was right!

I have been wanting to create my own conversion for a long time, and after missing out on a clean All American a few years ago, decided to start looking again. I found this 83 GMC RTSII and decided to spend the grand on it...Brought it home today, and as Ty Pennington says, The renovation begins...NOW...lol!

It is a 40' coach, 102 wide, and has the 6V92TA and V730 trans. It was a former Dallas bus. They overhauled the engine and trans at about 460000 miles...it now has 512000. They did take care of her, and she's rust free.

It really was a uneventful ride...Ran like a top the whole way.

First, we cleaned her all up at the prior owners house...

Then fuel...125 gallons...Thankfully it was already half!

Someone else, however, was having a VERY bad day... but I believe they were all ok...

A stop to fantasize at the chrome shop...

Then home at last...(excellent Steely Dan song too...lol)

Here's the interior so far...This is the kitchen area...All the hard stuff, like all the tanks, plumbing, and most electric, is already done by the previous owner. He simply (and his wife) lost interest.

Where the couch will go...

Now the fun begins!

Shawn

Cool! I was considering one of these units as well, from a different city however.
The length dictated that it was out of the question for me, as it wouldn't fit in our driveway.
Looking forward to your conversion!

OOOOH . . . . I hate when that happens!

Very nice looking ride you have, though!

There are a few of these just down the road from me - I`ll have to stop in the next time I`m by there and ask what he`s selling them for.
