EDIT UPDATE: It appears that IWANNA is pretty local to the NC area of the country, so not necessarily a high priority shopping area for a Houston area guy.
http://www.iwanna.com/ Just a really good want ads paper. Free to post but the paper itself costs. We've bought several things thru them ranging from a $25 Ben Franklin wood stove (drove over to Skyland for that one), Appalachian Wood Stove (comparable to a Fisher Mama Bear but much lower in price), misc tractor accessories for the 8N, the Class C, the bus and lots of stuff I can't remember. We've lived several rural places and there seems to always be a "want ads" paper. Many of these are now online.

I looked and I don't think I can do it. Of course, I am not really a moderator...just a guy that can delete spam. My suggestion would be to take this thread as far as it goes and start a new thread once you get a bus and start the conversion.

No problem. Thanks for the suggestion. Conversion Discussion is the main discussion area, right? Oh, and thanks for helping take care of spam.

Neither, but we do go to Beaumont occasionally. About as easy to go there as Houston and usually less traffic.

I'm an old hand at CL and govdeals.

We are thinking of trying Beaumont out when we leave NM. Have you ever looked at the East Lucas RV park behind the Home Depot there?

Usually, we go to Beaumont to meet my daughter there to drop off or pick up my youngest granddaughter or we my go out to eat or something. Occasionally, we will do our Christmas shopping there. I've never had my trailer there in Beaumont, though. Just short day trips is all.

If you want, the next time I go there, though, I can swing in and take a look-see. I stop in at that HD at times, so it won't be much trouble. I just never know when will be the next time I'll be there since that is not our normal grandkid "hand off" place.

For that size of town, it has a lot going for it. I call it a small big town. By that, it has the feel of a larger city, but is really not that big. There are several historical places to go and the downtown district is interesting with a lot of cool architecture. The town's claim to fame, so to speak, is Spindletop where the oil discovery was prominent in our energy history. There is a Spindletop village reconstructed near Lamar University. If you like pine trees, the Big Thicket part of east Texas is just a short car ride away.

So, I'm not sure how long you were thinking of staying there, but it would be interesting for a little while.

Sounds interesting. I can't change HD stores more than every two years. I'm really hoping to get a couple of other ventures going so that I am not locked down to one spot for so long. Otherwise, unless we win one of the big lotteries, I will be working until I drop.
