Re: Jacuzzi Bus IV

i forget exactly what switch it is, but it's over on the left hand side near the drivers elbow. I am half thinking it is one of the original a/c controls. some of those switches have multiple positions. i am pretty sure it's a stock factory switch. the fans only turn on when the engine ignition is on.

I hear you Jimmyaustin. The heater for the water was working well on Sunday. You will see soon what I mean when I say it made a model in a bikini sweat a bit during the shoot. Thanks Jason I will check out those switches.

Re: Jacuzzi Bus IV

hmmm. there are three possible solutions that pop into my brain.

might need a volt meter to find the problem. first, make sure that 12 volts is going to the heater and that there is a good ground. If those check out, i'd try and spin the fan by hand just to make sure it spins freely. Those are 2 speed fans, and i believe they were only wired to turn on in "high" mode.

if you don't have 12 volts at the heater, then check the switch and see if it has power to both sides. I really don't remember exactly which switch it is, but if you open the electrical panel on the outside of the bus near the drivers seat, you should be able to see the business end of the switches on that panel. Like i said before, i think the switch is labeled as one that controlled the original a/c unit. There should only be 1 or 2 that appear to have "new" wires running to them. One for the back doors, and one for the heater. I don't think it'll be a blown fuse, the bus is equipped with auto resetting circuit breakers if i remember correctly.

Re: Jacuzzi Bus IV

I re-approached the switches betting that there was something that I was missing. Sure enough, I realized that one switch I hadn't yet clicked it to the other speed and sure enough they came to life. However, they are rubbing the cowls quite badly and making lots of noise but this shouldn't be a big deal to remedy.

Re: Jacuzzi Bus IV

depends how big the door is compared to the jacuzzi. For a big jacuzzi removing a section of roof/ceiling is my preferred method for installation. Of coarse if the jacuzzi will fit through a door, that is 100 times better than taking off the roof!
