You asked how to measure it, that is how most shops measure it. We also have a brake drum micrometer, but that is more used to identify out of round issues then measuring the inside diameter.

Cost wise, I'd just buy a cheap digital calipers and then use a straight piece of coat hanger.

Or you could take your drums to any machine shop and ask them to help.

This is Tucson. I wouldn't take anything to anyone around here and expect an honest answer. I've learned to do it myself because when I hire the local experts they take my money and deliver garbage. Sad but true.

I now have those huge oil lubricated rear hubs off, and the S cams and bushings removed. There is about .008 of wear on the cam shafts. I asked a guy who sells that stuff if he would replace them with that amount of wear. He said unless it is going to get a lot of miles out on it, no. The bushings were nylon and they showed some wear, especially the outboard bushings where the cam head is. I have ordered all new seals and new bushings. One of the bushings for the slack adjuster pin was wiped out so those also will be replaced. All the parts have been thoroughly cleaned. Early October or sooner All that stuff should be here so then I can begin reassembly.
